Within Canterbury’s historic city walls, Abode Canterbury is just 300 metres from Canterbury Cathedral.

Set in quaint gardens, The Victoria Hotel offers traditional home-cooked food and free Wi-Fi. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from Canterbury centre, and just under a mile from Canterbury Cathedral.

This charming hotel is 2 miles from Canterbury and close to Dover and the Eurostar. Dating back to the 12th century, it is surrounded by picturesque hills and fruit trees.
Score from 408 reviews Very good
The location is very nice, close to Canterbury and Dover. It is an ideal location to sleep when you want to catch an early ferry. Shame about breakfast though.
When we arrived, no greeting or introduction was given. The first thing happening was the bill put under our noses to be paid. Breakfast would be served from 8 in the morning. When you have to catch an early boat to the continent, this is rather late. After some discussion, we could have breakfast at 07:30, leaving us still very little time to enjoy this.
The location and ease of getting into Canterbury and the surrounding area with great directions for park and ride etc readily available in reception. Well appointed rooms and facilities with lovely areas to sit and enjoy the noise of wildlife only. Stuart, the host, was extremely helpful and was always on hand and cooked a lovely breakfast to order. Not going to try anywhere else in the area now, best value for money for sure.
Maybe just a little bit of music with breakfast as it was too quiet and you felt you had to whisper.
The quality of the decorations and the furnishings was excellent. The environs were brilliant with lovely walks and the breakfast was superb . The sausages were really tasty and to die for.
There was nothing to dislike
Great location for ferry ports, friendly, gracious host. Lively rooms and bathrooms. Fab breakfast , with quality organic produce, best sausage ever tasted !!!! You won't be dissapointed if you book here.
Rooms in a purpose built lodge - large, very clean and very comfortable. Excellent value for money. We were made very welcome and, after a good sleep, breakfast was cooked to perfection.
Rural surroundings but close to main road for Canterbury and Whitstable. Spacious room with desk, sofa, hair dryer, etc. Very comfy bed. The best breakfast to be had anywhere! Plus, the views from the dining room are lovely. Country walks very close by. The nicest, most welcoming host you could wish for (Stuart) who knows the best local places to eat. We hope to find an excuse to go there again some day!
The fact that we could only stay three nights!
Oakside Lodge is a good place if you plan on visiting Canterbury and the North Kent coastal towns. It is easily accessable from the A2. in a nice setting. The rooms and dining area were very clean and comfortable and furnished to a high standard. The owner was very friendly and obliging.
+ very friendly host; + large shower; + good quality cooked breakfast; + modern design;
- very close to A2, therefore too noisy to open a window at night; - terrible coffee; - few vegan (or vegetarian) options for breakfast;
The location is amazing.
Nice room, comfortable bed, helpful host. Good breakfast
Very well presented. Stewart was an excellent host and I was not surprised to see that it has been given such good ratings by other guests.
Light from the passage seeps through the bottom of the door in the night, allowing a constant stream of light into the room. Had to put a towel down to block out the light.
Thankyou for a lovely stay, rooms were lovely and clean, excellent breakfast plenty of choice the staff were lovely and very friendly we were made very welcome when we arrived would recommend this lodge to any body visiting Canterbury and surrounding areas
Fantastic location for a visit to Canterbury. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent accommodation for an overnight stay.
Service Room Location Easy to find Price
Everything was perfect. The taxi into Canterbury for a fixed price was genius.
Serene setting, comfortable and clean room, internet, parking, breakfast, and the owner.
Nothing to report :-)
Everything was great!
my wife and I were traveling to paris ,stopped off for two nights if we hand not booked ferry we would have stayed longer ,Stuart who owns the lodge really nice person even posted a key back home for us free .room was brill ,breakfast brill .his staff are brill .would stay again .
Pigs, gardens and the option to purchase wine to enjoy with a good book in the early evening sunshine!
Nothing but perhaps more of a focus on a continental breakfast would suit me better - pastries and a larger selection of fruit.
Lovely and clean. Furnished to a very high standard. Breakfast great.
Nice location though a bit of traffic noise, rooms nice and modern owner personable and helpful.
Didn't like having to pay on arrival before we had even seen the room! The shower was stuck on way too hot and nothing was done about it and no refund offered
From the time we arrived until the time we left we were made to feel welcome and our stay was very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, the first morning of our stay we had to leave before the official breakfast time but we were still served breakfast...nothing was too much trouble. Would love to stay again!
Everything was perfect and we felt welcome and looked after from the moment of our (early!) arrival until our departure after a delicious English breakfast. Lovely, quiet location despite being near a large road.
Somewhat difficult to find
Breakfast was excellent, room clean and comfortable. Easy parking. Host was incredibly friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.
Nothing to dislike.
Excellent place, really lovely stay here.
