Food was lovely and hot every morning. friendly helpful staff pointed us to things of interest locally.
Stuart our host was brilliant, very amiable and always available for any information. He cooked our wonderful breakfast to order which was excellent and piping hot. Lovely location and lovely comfortable room.
Nothing. Loved everything.
A lovely quiet spot to explore Canterbury and surrounding areas. Stayed for a summer and winter graduations and received a warm welcome both times. Need a car since just a little too far walk into town but a reliable cab service available if you need to get in for graduation ceremonies or to shows at the Marlow or Gulbenkian theatres. Generous breakfast to start your day too!
That we had to go home!
Friendly service, cleanliness and value.
Close to Canterbury and to main roads yet set in a rural location with wonderful views. Comfortable and clean. Stuart is a great host, cooks a mean (but not lean!) breakfast and offers really helpful guidance. We'd certainly stay there again
Because of unusually mild November weather we had wanted to open windows at night. Traffic noise from the nearby A2 prevented us doing that
The lodge, both bedroom, bathroom and communal areas, were spotless. Stuart the host was very welcoming and served an excellent cooked breakfast. There are extensive grounds and outside facilities, but due to weather conditions we were unable to explore. Would definitely return there if in the area and have no hesitation in recommending it.
We were looking for the lodge on a dark Damp November night and had difficulty finding it as a bit off the beaten track, but definitely worth the search!
Oakside was clean with good breakfast and friendly proprietor. The room had the usual facilities though the hair dryer didn't work properly.
The construction of the lodge was very poor, with stud walls with out sound proofing. We could hear other guests walk around their rooms talking. If the other guests were less considerate then our sleep would have been disrupted to unbearable.
Very welcoming and friendly owner, the room was modern, bright and comfortable. Excellent breakfast and great location for Canterbury. Would definitely stay again
Everything Stuart is a very welcoming host and could not do enough to help Room was first rate and the entire lodge was immaculate Would highly recommend
Stuart was lovely - so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Good sized room with great shower.
quiet location beautiful views.. situated close to town
Comfy bed, nice decor and particularly liked the lighting in the wardrobe!! Very good cooked breakfast and plenty of parking.
Noise from the main road.
On turning up the drive I couldn't believe what a beautiful setting Oakside Lodge was in, having turned off the main road it was quiet & tranquil. The room was very clean & comfortable, fantastic shower. Breakfast was fantastic & served very quickly as we were en route to the ferry port.
Nothing apart from I didn't get to see the piggies.
-breakfast was okey
-strange host, very friendly at breakfast, but mainly concerned about getting his money -building close to traffic, no silence as expected "in a forest", no farm, but one pig
Easy to find, quite location, very friendly, highly recommended,no complaints whatsoever thanks jocky
Too bland decoration in the rooms.
The room was big, comfy and clean. Breakfast was perfect, couldn't ask for more.
Really friendly, really lovely place
Well deserving of certificate excellence . A superior bed and breakfast set in its own 5 acres of ground. Easy accessible to Canterbury . The owner Stuart can't do enough for you from a warm welcome with a very filling breakfast we left refereshed will certainly return
Lovely, quiet location, especially in the morning, misty woodland. Quiet when in room, a good night's sleep. Decent, well cooked breakfast, but no cooked veggie option.
Constant traffic noise outside.
A little too much traffic noise with windows open
Very friendly staff Very clean throughout Great value for money Quiet location Good WiFi in room Full English breakfast
Noisy extractor fan in bathroom which ran for a long time after being switched off.
Stuart was very welcoming and helpful. The home cooked breakfast was a nice touch. Close to Canterbury about 10 minutes to park and ride.
