With charming floral decor and generous cooked breakfasts, The Beech House is a quintessentially English hotel, just a short walk from central Windermere.
Score from 143 reviews Excellent
In the pretty center of Bowness-on-Windermere, this traditional Lakeland house is below Biskey Howe viewpoint and offers home-cooked breakfasts and spacious, stylish bedrooms with free Wi-Fi.
Score from 418 reviews Excellent
Built in 1854, the 4-star All Seasons Guest House retains its original Lakeland stone exterior and slate roof. On Windermere High Street, the train station is 650 ft away, and the Lake is 1 mile away....
Score from 70 reviews Very good
In beautiful landscaped grounds, Beech Hill has an AA Rosette restaurant and an indoor heated pool. Some rooms feature spa bathtubs, four-post beds or garden terraces.

Good location 2min walk from the train station, nice room with comfortable bed & nice bathroom. Meal in the restaurant was enjoyable with good attentive service. Staff very helpful and polite.
Drinks a bit expensive in bar
The heat and flow of water were poor
room was lovely. close to everything. meal at night in restaurant was excellent. staff very good especially lady who served us breakfast.
we chose wine at £16 a bottle which wasnt very nice and as they wer the bottles opened behind bar we didnt hav another drink. fo the price u should get a decent bottle.
The room was spotless and very comfortable.
There was a small window of 1 hour for breakfast on the Sunday 8:30. - 9:30 which we missed. Could do with maybe extending that a little
Fantastic bedroom ( no5) with a lovely deep bath and plenty hot water for a soak. Dinner in the restaurant was cooked well and the serving staff were polite and attentive.
Breakfast only served from 8:30 - 9:30. As early risers it delayed our day out. Waitress was not very friendly and got the feeling she wanted to be somewhere else !
Room was great, plemy of room and clean
Ordered the special fish dish without asking the price. It was £32 when most dishes were maximum 20 to 25.
location friendly helpful staff comfortable room delicious fresh breakfast
Was not able to open windows to let fresh air in.
Location was great , walking distance to local resteraunts , rooms were spotless , breakfast was superb, staff were friendly.
Nothing not to like , would stay again
Well placed at the heart of the town. Excellent breakfast.
Room was somewhat compact for a Superior Double room.
Arrived to a friendly wecome, room was warm and clean, breakfast was excellent and staff pleascent
Breakfast was lovely, really nice.
the room was not the greatest but then again it didn't claim to be.
Room, superior double, not enormous but clean and comfortable. Friendly staff ( liked the minimal fuss) and a great location. Excellent breakfast. Fair price for a good product. .
While there is a parking space for each room, and w did secure one, this is not immediately apparent on arrival. Town centre locations obviously have a constant struggle in this respect but perhaps more could have been done to keep non residents out.
It was a really pleasant stay overall.
Just a short walk back from hooked restaurant (the reason we'd come to Windermere) Parking-this was definately a plus as was 1hr parking on the street.
It was a bit noisy
Friendly staff, very accomodating for our dog, the breakfast was very premium - great sausage & scrambled egg!!, the bed was extremely comfortable & much larger than the double advertised. Overall a great location but also within walking distance of bowness for a larger selection of pubs/boat trips & walks for the dog. Would definitely visit again!!!!!
Reception needs brightening upva bit..flowers...brighter furniture. Wallpaper on staircase needs looking at..but overall lovely room and fab breakfast.
Great location, great staff and very accommodating with us and out toddler! Could not dual four stay!
Location Spacious room Hearty Breakfast Large bathroom Comfortable restaurant Excellent evening meal Wide range of drinks in the bar
Inadequate pressure in shower Bar could be made more cosy
restuarant, food, rooms
Location, friendly approachable staff and a really great breakfast!
The food served was red hot, however giving veg as part of the meal would be better rooms were clean and tidy, and the staff were excellent and very friendly.
Can't say there was anything really a little extra milk in the room and maybe self help at breakfast, for fruit juice cereal ect
And what a treat my wife and i had. Warm welcome, fabulous food. Our room was modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We cant praise the hotel enough. A very Big thank you.
There isnt anything to dislike.
The location, very near town centre and all within walking distance.
Waiting at the breakfast table. Not enough staff to cater for the number of guest in the hotel and had to wait for more than 30 minutes to get breakfast.
