I liked how my feedback on the first breakfast was dealt with. In an overheated room, milk and juice were left at room temperature, ie not chilled. Neither was the butter. It was a shambles with dirty plates left on tables, nothing labelled so you did't know which jug was coffee or tea etc and a juice the colour of which I have never seen before. I was told it was fruit punch. I found a manager and ran through all this with her. Credit where iti is due.....the following day an adjacent servery was opened with proper food chillers and a well displayed breakfast greeted you on arrival including items like ham and fruit that had been missing on day I. A huge improvement and I gave positive feedback to the same manager who said they were continuing to tweak the system. My main complaints about this hotel are lack of consistency and poor Internet. This was my 6th stay. I love the exec rooms and the location is perfect for me. On each stay there has been a differen system in place for breakfast. I think they have finally got it right. Terrible terrible Internet connection though. It comes and goes, is strong then weak. It is on a college campus! Surely this could be improved.

The rooms are small but very comfortable apart from the pillows which are too bulky. The bathroom is lovely but there is deterioration since my last visit a few months ago. The cleaners need to be given a product to clean the limescale in the shower and on the taps. The cooked breakfast is fine but the changes in service....ie no fruit, croissants etc is a backward step. The table with the cereals is poorly presented, the juice is not chilled neither is the milk! Butters are left on the tables to go soft and the general management of breakfast is poor. Terrible Internet connection! Water in exec bedroom not replenished....this has happened on various visits. Breakfast provisions have been seriously downgraded. The general staff are very pleasant but the management of this establishment walk around looking very self important but blinkered to what is actually going on. I love the location and up until have liked the rooms but even these are deteriorating especially the exec bathrooms! One word of assistance.....VIAKAL! Not sure if Iwill be back.

I booked this hotel as I was attending a course at Maidstone hospital which is very near. This hotel really exceeded my expectations. The rooms are recently refurbished to 5 star standard ! Really luxury and clean room and bathroom! I really felt relaxed in the hotel and enjoyed my stay ! Excellent breakfast! Many beautiful common rooms in the reception.

Pleasant building in good surroundings. Clean room with excellent shower. Menu range was poor and service very slow. The place had an atmosphere of having disturbed a bunch of elderly lecturers. No point having a reasonable room if you can't eat well and the food was only average in the evening and the cooked breakfast was on the small size.

Rooms are clean and modern - very nice. Cooked breakfast is very good. Breakfast used to be mainly self service with staff service if hot breakfast required - now all by staff from Kitchen which is slow esp when all you want is toast. Bring back the self service toaster.

I booked Oakwood House based on its location and price. My expectations were moderate. As long as the room was clean and the food was edible I would have been happy; but it far exceeded my expectations. It looks like the place has recently been refurbished, the room was very comfortable (the shower nearly blasted me away) and the food was excellent. Oakwood House is located on a complex that includes a college and some other facilities but the address only gets you to the complex. I had to call reception to get directions to Oakwood House itself.

The rooms were connected by internal doors so you could hear everything neighbour was doing at any given moment....not very good and they should isolate the internal doors.
