This charming Victorian town house enjoys a beautiful waterfront location on North-West Scotland’s rugged coastline. Elegant guest rooms have free Wi-Fi, and the breakfast menu uses local produce.

Room in need of refurbishing and tiny bathroom
Beautiful view from the front lounge.
The ensuite was in needs of refurbishment, the shower curtain was dirty, which was reported to reception.
Location is very good. Breakfast was good.
Room was an attic room and was quite small. Bathroom was also very small. Room had a good view out if a very small window. It was overpriced for this kind of room.
nice sitting rooms , restaurant, friendly staff.
rooms at back of hotel dark and not very inspiring a bit claustrophobic, beds not very comfortable.
facilities were good, location are excellent, food good staff very friendly.
They didn't appear to know our requests which were emailed days in advance, one extra bed. The room i was in had an over powering odour of disinfectant.
Fantastic location with the best view - from the bar and from our room. Memorable time.
Location Bar area
Bedroom small and fusty smell Breakfast service was disorganised and poor value for money
Wonderful breakfast, great views
Booked at short notice as ferry cancelled. Staff friendly and hotel clean. Good location for town and port. Lovely conservatory with views over the bay that kept the bus touring Americans happy.
A mix up with our rooms when we arrived resulted in us disturbing someone, but they then gave us a superior room. Rooms looked like they need some refurb. Breakfast didn't inspire us.
everything was very good, food sleep staff, service. no complaints at all will stay again no problem.
The location is good and the evening meal was fine. The staff were all pleasant.
This hotel is very poor value indeed. Our night there was the only disappointing stay of our ten day holiday in Scotland, as well as the most expensive. Both our double room and our son's single room were dark and small, with visibly cracked paintwork on the window frames, an absolutely filthy looking net curtain, a dirty looking carpet and a bathroom in need of new fittings. Even worse than all this was the fact that the room looked straight onto what looked like a hostel which I suspect the hotel owns and uses to accommodate more visitors. The people staying in the hostel could look down at us and we could look back at them unless the net curtain was drawn, which made the room so depressingly dark that we just wanted to get out of it. The (no doubt lovely) large sea facing rooms with modernized bathrooms shown on the hotel's publicity are not at all representative of the hotel and it really should be made clear that they are the superior rooms and that guests should not expect to enjoy them unless at a premium. As it was, our two rooms cost £260 so I cannot imagine how much the nice rooms actually do cost. Additionally, the dining room is very disappointingly placed. In a hotel on the glorious west coast of Scotland, the dining room has no views of the sea and the main window looks out the back onto what looked like another block of flats, or hostel of some sort with cars parked. Finally, alone of all the places we stayed, the cold part of the breakfast was brought to us (tiny bowls of chopped fruit or tinned grapefruit segments) rather than letting guests help themselves, presumably in case they took too much. The rest of the breakfast was average. The evening meal was perfectly good but could in no way make up for the really quite unacceptable quality of room for such a high price. I really cannot overstate - especially in contrast to the other fantastic places we stayed - how mean and shabby this hotel seemed.
The view from our bedroom - sea view. Food was of a very high standard. Staff were very friendly.
Room too small for 3 guests, room dated
Beautiful view from the lounge area, liked the decor of the hotel, very comfortable beds.
Don't like showers with fixed shower heads as I soaked the floor trying to get it warm enough to stand under as there was no room to avoid the freezing water flow and I had to stand outside the unit till it was hot enough and soaked the place opening the door wide enough to get in. :-(
Room was clean. Plain decor. Breakfast was excellent.superb choices.
Getting woke up constantly noise was awful never experienced anything like it.Take industrial ear plugs.
Location of the hotel and quality of the food. An excellent dining experience.
Not a complaint, merely an observation. Room was a tad tired and could do with some TLC!
Food was brilliant! Excellent value for money! Loved the treatments! Will return!!!
Room got very hot! Would have liked to open the window!
- the first room was dark and smelled old and damp - the second was better (after appeal) but still dark (avoid rooms on the east side) and we could not bear to complain again - we got their 6 course menu, you should probably avoid it - too fast between the courts and the courts were frequently boring - no parking
The meals and friendly service from the staff. The ever changing view from the observation lounge.
Could have been awkward for parking. We were lucky!
Atmosphere was lovely, and front reception area was grand as was the lady at reception......room was lovely and clean, breakfast was great
the bedrooms were very tired looking, in bad need of a doing over, paint peeling off in the bathroom, with a musty smell...for the price you pay, not good.....carpets stained, wallpaper peeling off some walls......a bit different from the entrance area, where it is lovely.....drinks at the bar.......my husband had a beer, pipes need cleaning badly, sediment in glass, my drink, flat lemonade.....man behind bar seemed not to care less........disappointing to an otherwise lovely Hotel......staff . Lift your game.......
Parking is scarce.....
What you see in web site is not real. Rooms are very hold style and the view is on the parking.
