Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent night porters, very good location for onward travel. I canunderstand some people may hav problems adhering to the smoking policy but was very concerned from a health and safety point of view that the windows in the bedrooms had limited opening ,and the toilet in the first bedroom we had on the second floor had no extraction and the window was either sealed shut or stuck through lack of maintenance. |

I found that from the minute I walked in to the caledonian hotel and was greeted by the receptionist joanne and throughout my stay meeting staff from the bar to the dining room to house keeping and even the night porter I could not find fault.everybody and I mean everybody could not have been more helpfull or friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anybody as the standard throughout was outstanding and a joy to behold. I will certainly be returning. Nothing at all |

I liked the location and easy access to public transport. Staff were sometimes not helpful. We complained about cold coffee and staff more or less argued with us that it was hot enough. Latte Coffee served in a coffee cup??? Breakfast food was cold and evening meal was bland. |

Public rooms were modern and well maintained. Good intial impressions. Bedroom was reasonable but with some extra little touches could have been improved. Some parts of the hotel could have done with some minor upgrading. Blind in the bathroom. General maintenance really. Overall the Hotel was comfortable and inviting, the public rooms were well decorated and modern, the staff helpful. For the money excellent value. |

The location is very good being close to the railway station, bus station and ferry terminal. Breakfast was very nice. The welcome to the hotel was poor, the receptionist couldn,t decide whether to continue working on the computer or to deal with us. She was also very difficult to understand as english was not her first language. The bed was terrible as it cracked and creaked with every move. |

I found the location of the hotel to be good, and I did appreciate the fact that I was able to bring my dog along with me. Also appreciated that I was able to check in a little earlier than the time specified. |

The location was good, nice and central, and the facilities were good. Breakfast - you ordered when you got to the table and everything arrived at once. We sent back the hot breakfast because it arrived before we had even had our fruit and juice, and we weren't ready for it. When it came back it had been kept fairly hot and was no longer good - e.g. the potato scone resembled cardboard and the bacon appeared to be well and truly dead. A little thought about not plonking everything down immediately but spacing things out would have made a much pleasanter meal. We felt we were part of a production line and being rushed as fast as possible. However dinner was nice, although our second night we had to be moved to the Top Deck because the dining room was rather cold. Wines too expensive. |

The restaurant / bar was a comfortable environment and more stylish than I anticipated. The lift was off. 3 floors is a haul for a wife with a bad leg. Waiting Staff were pretty inexpereinced and unattentive. |

The rooms were clean and nice and big. The hotel was right in the centre of Oban so good for convenience. I would say that this hotel was overpriced for what it was. |

The staff were absolutely brilliant, friendly, efficient and helpful. Upon our arrival a staff member called Kerry (I think!) upgraded us for free to a luxury suite as it was our first wedding anniversary. We also arrived three hours before check in just to drop off our bags but were told the room would be ready in five minutes! The room was absolutely gorgeous with a stunning view over the harbour. |

it's only redeeming feature is it's situation which is central for Oban. Very jaded and in need of refurbishment. |

Location was good. Central for all facilities Bed mattress was worn. You could feel the springs and it dipped in the middle. Fabric was dated and tired. Didn't feel clean. Noise from road was very loud - needs double glazing. |

Boasting spectacular views over the expansive Oban Bay, this newly-refurbished Victorian hotel offers convenient accommodation just minutes away from the town centre. |
