The lady who owned Oceans was lovely and really accommodating to our requests for arriving late and leaving early. The breakfast was adequate.
We asked for a twin room but on the second night we were given a family room but the bunk bed had dirty laundry on it and the windo was stuck open. we had to stuff a towel on the gap to keep out the wind and rain.
Wet walls, musty smell, dreadful mark on headboard, couldn't open window, couldn't park car, toilet faulty it was the worst B&B I have seen in my life. No cooked breakfast, continental they called it, not the ones I have had in France and Italy! This place should be gutted and started again, it is a beautiful Building but needs a lot of money put in to it. If you don't have it sell it!
we thought the accomodation was very good, quite comfortable and with a sea view.
The continental breakfast was not to our taste, hard boiled eggs sliced ham cheese slices. cerial and toast which suited me. but the other my husband was not impressed.
I was well looked after, even taken by the cleaner's granddaughter to buy a takeaway and get money out of a dispenser in driving rain. They could not have been nicer.
Room was clean and tidy and service very friendly. The buffet breakfast was good.
A cooked breakfast was not available.
Very cordial reception and very comfortable beds. Breakfast adequate with ample choice.
Decor needs a lot of TLC Especially the damage to the wall by the entrance door.
Friendly and clean
The location & views of the sea were excellent. The staff were very friendly. It was clean and comfortable and quiet. A good continental style breakfast in the morning.
There are parking spaces, but they are on a first come first serve basis, & the only other parking is metered but with a maximum stay of only 2 hours.
Nothing felt clean, although it was, wall papers and paint, furniture clashed. we went late September and it was nearly empty, breakfast consisted of cereal and toast, we had toast and coffee, I would expect more for £60 fee.
The sea view location. The Continental Breakfast was good, adequate variety for all tastes.
Inter City train thunders past just outside the accommodation - no warning. Whole place tired and in need of paint and updating. No admittance after 8.30pm onfirst day. Are they there for our benefit or we their's? TV should be confined to museum.
Location was great, good value for an overnight stay in Dawlish
Very quirky room with lots of character
Would of liked a full English breakfast Included in the price
Rundown hotel with no wifi in room
Peaceful, quaint little place, friendly people.
There wasn't anything not to like, an all round pleasant place.
Good value for money nice and cosy and clean friendly staff what more could you ask will visit again
Not much parking
Very close to the all the local amenities.
Lumpy bed. Very uncomfortable unless you stayed very still.
The service, the facilities that were missing ( bar not open, not even an apology or explanation) the ufrienly unprofessional staff, tv not working properly, poor maintenance, no light bulbs everywhere, window handle broken, the sheets were not changed, same sheets from previous occupants!!Outrageous! When we called to complint there was no one available, so we had to sleep in our clothes as it was too late to find another hotel after we had our day drip around.
it was only a continental breakfast which did not appeal to me. I like a full english
getting out of there
electrical wire hanging out of wall no full English as advertised staff are rude shower leaks flooding the ensuite sea view is about an inch of see if you twist your neck round the window that didn't open but still let a draught through and the "new"bed that you could feel every spring on was a joke left at that point and had to return in morning to get money back but only after the second visit when I told the woman that I was going to report her to council did I get it back this place is a fire hazard no smoke alarms or fire alarms
No options of any cooked breakfast at all. Staff not available at all when needed. Bedrooms very dated, bed was very hard, pillows were as if no pillows as they sank to same height of bed. No thank you or did you enjoy your stay when we left just a goodbye.
Pleasant overnight stay. Room comfortable- top of the hotel approx 60 stairs Coffee tea facilities Bed warm comfortable
Sea view was side view TV reception very poor Lack of information in room eg no fire information, information about wifi
I love the view of the sea and it was a perfect spot for everything being right in the centre.
Location was very good
Breakfast was told continental very poor cheese and selection of cereals just one juice & boiled eggs with very poor bread. Ham was excellent.
The location was good, close to all facilities.
Could do with a re-vamp
at the top of the roof, window didnt open, they were sky light windows with no sea veiw you couldnt lay down in the bath as the roof came down to it and no parking
