The family-run Rock Inn is located in the hamlet of Waterrow, within 30 minutes’ drive of Exmoor National Park and Taunton. This charming inn has a restaurant and a traditional pub.

Family run business with all members of the family making you feel welcome. Very professional.
The space in the room, and comfortable bed - was very good. Very good breakfast. Excellent service.
The temperature outside was at zero overnight, and the heating was off; so maybe a portable heater would be beneficial. More carpet on the cold stone floors would be good.
Beautiful old converted farm, each room is seperate from the main building for privacy. The rooms have original features and the bathrooms are modern and stylish. Breakfast was a combination of cereals and fresh yoghurt with a cooked breakfast cooked to order. The staff were very friendly.
The tv was in a seperate room to the bedroom with a sofa, which was places next to the door to the room. Only single glazing and not air tight so too cold to watch tv comfortably from the sofa. Also the room did not have a table, my husband and I asked of we could use the breakfast room on an evening to play a board game but we were turned away.
A charming B&B in a very pleasant setting. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful and an ideal location for my trip.
Had difficulty getting Wi-Fi coverage in my room but could use facilities in main house.
Location, very friendly owner to welcome you
entrance a little hard to find, could do with some signed to direct you to the car park. Outside sensor lights would also be good for the walkway to your room
The room was warm and comfortable. A great size. The breakfast on offer was fantastic. I only had a bacon sandwich but the bacon was very tasty and obviously very good quality, maybe from a local farm.
I didn't have hot water, just warm and as there was no shower I had to have a bath, which would have been lovely had it been hot!
The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was ten out of ten. Very attentive and helpful hosts. Would return.
From the time we arrived at the Octon Lodge I can only give nothing but praise. We were met by Lisa, the owner who was very courteous and helpful, we left our car there as we arrived very early to go to Taunton races which is only 150 yards from the hotel. When we returned Lisa's son toook us to our rooms, he was very helpful and polite too. The standard of the rooms was very good, very comfortable and homely. The next morning we had a lovely breakfast and were waited on by Lisa in a very kind and caring way. I cannot praise this enough and will definitely be returning. Adrian
Heating turned off at night (freezing and no hot water until 7am) No internet in rooms Awkward space (2 bedroom apt) Needs renovating asap
As always the family were very welcoming. Room was clean as usual and the breakfast was excellent. Definately be back as the location is so close to everything you need.
Minor gripe the bed was a bit noisy but not enough to stop us enjoying our stay.
Warm Room, comfortable bed, good breakfast. Likeable keen, young Tom
No answer to phone calls. Bathroom outdated . General decor needs refreshing
value for money walking distance from race course
Very comfortable, friendly hosts and good breakfast.
Friendly couple running it.
Expensive and lacked style for this price. Breakfast, no choice, no fruit and only sweet strawberry yogurts, unrefridgerated, available.
Peaceful and comfortable. Has a homely feel about the place. Good size breakfast. Just the place to rest and relax.
Bit tricky to find entrance on first visit.
We stayed on Friday night after finding Octon lodge on booking.com. I was happy with the price right away as it included breakfast making it better value than premier inn and the photos on the website sold it. We arrived to a really warm welcome and we were personally shown to our lodge. The place was beautiful and very tastefully decorated with a living area and bedroom separated by a step. The bathroom was also beautiful with a stand alone bath. outside was a fantastic garden and our own patio set outside of our lodge. The owners were lovely, the guy called us a taxi into town and came to call us when it arrived so we didn't have to wait around. His partner was just as warm and friendly the next morning when we met her at breakfast. The breakfast blew us away, it was the best fry up I've had in a hotel! High quality ingredients and very big! If I'm visiting Taunton or wellsprings leisure centre again this will be where I stay, it's so peaceful, relaxing and a great nights sleep!
Quiet. Excellent breakfast. Good and polite service. We will use venue again.
Inadequate lighting to entrance and on site at night. Lack of power on shower.
We stayed in a large room in the grounds with a very comfortable 4 poster bed, sofa and ensuite bathroom. The room doors were like patio doors and breakfasts were excellent. The whole stay was made very enjoyable by the friendliness of the owners.
Hot water in the shower was a little temperamental but no real problems.
When they charged me twice they are impossible to contact, answerphone messages and emails go ignored, still no sign of my money, 4 weeks later.
Beautiful rooms overlooking the garden Friendly welcome Delicious breakfast Good location
Hard to find as we arrived in the dark
The accommodation was like your own personal holiday cottage... but on a smaller scale. It was therefore very homely and I could have stayed there for weeks
Clean and tidy, staff very friendly. Breakfast brilliant good quality ingredients used. Stay was lovely and good value for money.
Unique character, mod cons with a historical twist. Excellent breakfast. Convenient to Taunton.
The entrance to the car park was easily missed coming from the Taunton road at night.
We loved the position of the accomodation for the racecourse.
The sewerage pipe was blocked outside and the sewerage leaked up onto the path. We were not allowed into the main part of the property and were asked to walk around the house to the breakfast room to talk to the lady who answered the door!! Bit to snobbish for us. Heating was far to hot and we heard the other guests in the room below and their entire conversation and what they had for dinner and when they went to the toilet!! The main sign to the house states take the first left to gain entry to the carpark but the arrow points to the right and the sign is positioned in the wrong way so confuses guests!!
