Nice old building breakfast
Close to city centre, comfortable and clean with wifi and great breakfast. Staff were very friendly. Booked a single, got a double - it was a bargain.
Vey good value for money and very friendly staff
You can park your car for free. Its close to walk to city.Has a lovely pub near by. Staff very welcoming.
The extra futon bed needed another layer of cushion on top.
rooms small but very comfortable bed very nice .breakfast set you up for the day.staff very friendly
Breakfasts were very nice and staff very helpful where issues arose. Room on road side had good double glazing that adequately reduced road noise.
When first entered building there was a smell as if old musty building. Could have done with air freshener to give better first impression. My room had particularly cramped ensuite. My mattress was uncomfortable. The wifi was good until problems arose that a simple router reboot could not fix and the alternative routers had poor signal for the rooms we had.
Nice comfortable room
All day breakfast wasn't the best
Traditional English Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable.
Bathroom was really small. Room could use a second larger mirror since only one person can use the bathroom mirror at a time. Not centrally located to downtown, but walkable distance (not with luggage as it is uphill from hotel to downtown).
Staff were lovely and made us feel welcome. They happily gave us directions and let us leave our bags on the day we checked out. Great value and really cosy.
uncomfortable bed - springs could be felt. bathroom badly designed. when sat on toilet arm knocked basin and could not stand in front of basin as toilet in way
Great service and everything needed in an independent hotel.
Beds too soft for my liking
The room is clean and the breakfast and service is nice.
TV and bathroom are small.
location was on my route, good facillities, shops, takeaway's, pubs all very near, good value
noisy guests, barking dog most of the night did not help me to sleep
had everything and was quiet and felt safe
couldn't get the shower working nwell. The electircs were a bit congested , all on one point. Couldn't work the tv.
Friendly staff and good central location.
Really shabby - the carpet and walls were really scruffy and needed changing/decorating. Very uncomfortable mattress and the shower was terrible! A trickle of scalding hot or ice cold water.
Staff was friendly and kind-- I was ill when I had to check out, with all my heavy bags, so I asked if I could stay in the living room (lovely living room) and do my work on the wifi till it was time for me to leave. They said it was perfectly fine, and were accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was good-- the full English breakfast was hearty and delicious.
It was a bit out of the centre of town on a quiet suburban-looking street, in a very residential area. I felt safe, but I would choose somewhere in the centre, which isn't that big. The wifi in my room just never worked. They have three wifi servers, but none of them would "catch" on my iPhone for anything more than a few minutes, and was only one or two bars. When the signal was full, however, in the common areas, the connection was decent. The room was clean, but there was a damp, mouldy smell in one part of it. The bed wasn't very comfortable and it creaked.
The staff were excellent. The bed was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good English, but could have been supplemented with some fresh fruit. The position was convenient for the town centre..
The general poorness of the bathroom. The door did not shut properly, there was gunge around the sealing of the shower door and on the floor. The hotel needs a substantial investment to compare with Travel Lodge or Premier Inns.
Fresh Cooked Breakfast included.
Location slightly away from the City Centre.
The staff were helpful, and one was particularly friendly. It's a no frills, budget traveller place, but the breakfast was as good as most I've been in, a nice smoking area out front.
WiFi mostly only worked downstairs or in the front garden.
Handy location for our needs. Staff very helpful. Good breakfast.
Steepish,narrow stairs to room.
Staff were very friendly. The hotel was clean and conveniently placed for Exeter St David's station and the city centre. Breakfast was good.
I stayed two separate nights in different rooms. I felt both rooms needed more space in the bathrooms for putting toiletries.
The location was good. The breakfast was good.
My room mostly !I appreciate its a budget hotel but to say the décor was tired is an understatement. This was all the more disappointing as the images on the website give a totally different impression. Although I'm sure the place was clean the "shabby" décor gave the perception of being "grubby". I've paid less and had a lot better.
The staff were pleasant enough and I'm sure it will improve. The room was adequate except the shower was cold, and breakfast ok.
Just a bit run down and seedy. Not a particularly nice area and as I did not know Exeter at all, I suppose I was disappointed.
