Breakfast was superb and a wide choice. The staff very welcoming and helpful. Situated in the best possible area in Saint davids
Door locks very temperamental. Wifi wasn't great but not necessary as we wanted to get away from modern technology we just wanted to relax
Location Good Breakfast Good, waiting staff great. Reception staff not so good.
Noisy room above bar. ( We asked for quite room). Hard to open door to room. Generally needs updating. A noisy building, not because of people its the doors and floors woodrobe doors moving etc.
Great location, and nice spacious room.
Dining room is lacking any atmosphere, and one poor person seemed to be responsible for all of the serving as well as room maintenance.
Easy to find Free parking on site Comfy room
Breakfast (room for improvement)
Bed was great, room ok, location perfect. Getting a mini milk for making tea really good touch other places should adopt. Top breakfast.
Place has the potential to be so much more. You walk into a dead area just chairs and a few tables. Make it cosy! Sofas a coffee machine or even put reception in there. Same goes for the breakfast room. Just a room, bland, no thought to anything but functionality. But it's things like ambience that make a hotel. This place just didn't have it but it so easily could! Hope they do something as we'd be back in a second if they did.
Central location. Very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. All round excellent value for money.
The bedrooms were very reasonable
The downstairs accommodation is in need of modernisation, which I gather is about to take place
Position is ok
Very noisy had to complaint regarding noisy glass washer user bedroom The restaurant food was ok but no one else eating in restaurant Although many meals were seres in the bar and therefore constant traffic and nose through restaurant with staff taking food from kitchen to bar
Dated decor London prices
breakfast excellent, staff very friendly, beds were very comfortable and location - beautiful part of Wales
having to pay for wifi
Central St Davids location, free parking, cleanliness, superb breakfast, friendly check-out and restaurant staff
Surly attitude of barman who was responsible for checking in. Check change at bar carefully.
Twin bedroom was quite spacious and comfortable. Excellent location. Breakfast menu is quite varied: full English breakfast, porridge, pancakes, continental buffet with fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries, etc. Had dinner in the restaurant once and were served excellent fish caught locally that same day.
Urinals on display are not a great sight when walking past the toilets to go to the breakfast room , when a door had been wedged open to allow for drying after cleaning. I would say "clean the toilets earlier or accept footprints on the tiles".Happened 2 days in a row. We were spared the sight on Monday morning..
Needs doing up Expensive for what it is
Location excellent close to Cathedral. The front garden is a delight and having good weather helped when sitting having a drink. Breakfast acceptable but not amazing
The usual grouse of the single traveller - pokey single room. At £75 it was well over priced for what was offered. Good job it was only the one night or I would have moved on.
As you know, most of accomodation in St.David's, unfortunately, are not good including Y Golfan, the worst accomodaton in the world, but this Old Cross Hotel is exceptional. As you enter the hotel, truly warm welcome waits you. The room is too comfortable for humbly pilglims. Location is also so good because the hotel is located just a few minutes walk from the splendid cathedral.
Rooms clean and comfortable bed. Good choice of breakfast Poached eggs perfect. Friendly helpful, approachable staff. Had a great weekend rhank you
Quality of sausages could be better .
Ideal location in the heart of St David's. Friendly and helpful reception, waiting and housekeeping staff. Very good food.
Our bedroom was over the kitchen and the extractor fans came on at 7am and were quite noisy. Small bathroom. Not much atmosphere in restaurant and bar area - bare furnishings.
Pricy for a dated hotel, I believe refurbishments are overdue.
Good location, both breakfasts and evening meals were excellent, attentive and busy staff, generous size room with storage annexe
We were directly above kitchen. At circa 7 am the staff would arrive and put on some sort of fan waking us up. The noise also persisted until after 10 pm.
Greeting on arrival and helpful/friendly staff.Breakfast excellent. Having recently changed hands,I expect that improvements will soon be under way to this well situated hotel.
Dining room/lounge/ bar/ reminiscent of old peoples home.
Bedrooms Location Breakfast
Restuarant lacks character as it is at the rear
Everything, location, room, service, price, staff etc
Milk for tea/coffee only available from fridge in corridor. Duvet only - no sheet. It was quite hot so one either had the duvet on (and got hot) or off (and got cold), or one took the duvet out of it's cover and just used the cover.
Excellent location with sunny and peaceful garden. Private parking a bonus. Friendly staff.
Breakfast could have been more adventurous. Room rates and evening meals were rather expensive although probably on a par with similar places nearby.
The central location and parking were excellent. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Small fridges on the landings providing fresh milk are an excellent idea. Cleaning staff were very friendly. Reception staff were helpful in information on the area and with booking a boat trip.
We were over the public room and people were talking loudly in there quite late. Also the movements and habits of the people in the room above disturbed us several times in the night.
