Welcoming staff, good evening meal, excellent breakfast.
Room was basic but acceptable for a building as old as this, shower was the same and it took a while to get hot water from the tap!
The location was great. Right in the centre of the town. Great popular eating and drinking place with younger people. Busy on all the nights I stayed. Big party going full swing on the Friday night. Good breakfast.
Beds uncomfortable. No bedside light and poor ceiling light to read by. No surface in bathroom for toiletries. No information on local activities or hotel. Very hot in bedroom. Party going on until after 2.30am Friday night.. No hotel information so couldnt reach reception to complain because there was a further very loud electrical vibrating noise going on. At 1.30ish a young member of staff entered my room ...! (I was sleeping at last). got a shock at me there..Me.. raging mad by then told him I had paid and been there for 4 days so why didn't he know! It was a terrible night. No apologies the next day. Not a place for visiting grandies to rest after a day or more with grandchildren! Never again for me!
everything, distance to milton keynes and london itself, the accommodation and food was excellent
Location ...Cliental very friendly .. A very Happy Public House.
Meals were good
The rooms were small with no storage or hanging space, breakfast was at 7 and the free public parking ended at 7. The landlady had a take it or leave it attitude and on the last morning I could not shower or shave as there was no water
Quaint oldie world surroundings,in the heart of the town.
Parking can be an issue.
Wi-fi not working at all. Big noise just before my door in the morning.
Efficient staff, willing to act promptly to please. The room was basic but very clean and cosy. The price was really good for the accommodation. I would recommend it to friends.
Perhaps the curtains could be ones that block out the street lighting in the alley next to the room. Though we were tired and slept well.
Room was warm and comfortable and staff were friendly. Generous portions for the bar meals and real ales. Would definitely stay again.
On arrival the hotel/inn had not received my booking from Booking.com, fortunately a room was still available. The free wifi wasn't available in my room only in the bar and restaurant. No hairdryer in my room.
The George was situated close to family that I was visiting and a nice little place. The linen was all clean.
The room needed a good clean and very dusty, found old sweet papers in bedside cabinet draw that did not belong to us. The staff at breakfast were abrupt not very attentive.
location in town makes shopping/going out easy
Parking on public car park
quaint room, perfectly adequate at a very reasonable price.
bedroom backed onto beer garden so was very noisy on Saturday night when pub was extremely busy
Friendly comfortable atmosphere & staff.
Very poor shower facilities.
Breakfast Genuine atmosphere
Matress a bit soft
Helpful staff and good service
Staff was friendly on arrival. Breakfast was included in the price of the room. Not as expensive as some rooms in Milton Keynes, but still more expensive then it should dare.
There was Karaoke below my room till midnight :(The room cold when I arrived :( Initially there was no breakfast available before 8am, then I was promised it would be there. In the morning the staff were rather surprised, quite unfriendly and totally unwilling to make any. Then after 5 minutes of debate agreed to make something. 2 boiled eggs and 2 were delivered after I was due to leave... I had to take it with me and eat on my way. I am certainly not coming again.
The fact that there wasn't a room
Good bar staff and entertainment
One of the kitchen staff was very rude and abrupt.
friendly staff, room was clean.
double bed needed a new mattress and room could do with being refurnished.
Idealy placed for walking into town Lot of history in the hotel
The breakfast arrangement. Tiny area for self service of cereals/coffee/tea.
good value, good beer and food, room quite.
Bed matress poor, could feel springs, needs replacing.
Convenient location and friendly staff however, overall the accommodation was somewhat tired. The bed was not the most comfortable however I did get a reasonable nights sleep.
Very noisy plumbing from toilet and bath with an unpleasant drain smell. Noisy plumbing heard from surrounding bedrooms. The George is a very old property and the stairs to the room I stayed in were very steep with very small treads - could be a problem for some.
Outside room was quiet, comfortable and secure. Meals and staff very good. Pub has great atmosphere and a good pub quiz.
Parking was tricky but manageable.
Very good hotel. Very clean and excellent staff and food . Very good value for money. Stony stratford is very nice.
Curtains in twin room should be thicker.... To stop bright light from outside lights to come in.
Friendly and obliging staff. Excellent wifi. Good and cheap food and drink. Great pub quiz!
Bed not the most comfortable but room what you expect for pub. Folk use the area under your window as smokers' corner. Neither bedside light worked - but enough light spilling in to walk to toilet in the dark.
