Located in the historical market town of Winslow, this traditional building has stood proudly in the market square since Tudor times.

Convenient location and friendly staff however, overall the accommodation was somewhat tired. The bed was not the most comfortable however I did get a reasonable nights sleep.
Very noisy plumbing from toilet and bath with an unpleasant drain smell. Noisy plumbing heard from surrounding bedrooms. The George is a very old property and the stairs to the room I stayed in were very steep with very small treads - could be a problem for some.
Outside room was quiet, comfortable and secure. Meals and staff very good. Pub has great atmosphere and a good pub quiz.
Parking was tricky but manageable.
Very good hotel. Very clean and excellent staff and food . Very good value for money. Stony stratford is very nice.
Curtains in twin room should be thicker.... To stop bright light from outside lights to come in.
Friendly and obliging staff. Excellent wifi. Good and cheap food and drink. Great pub quiz!
Bed not the most comfortable but room what you expect for pub. Folk use the area under your window as smokers' corner. Neither bedside light worked - but enough light spilling in to walk to toilet in the dark.
The ambiance and food were very good and the staff very pleasant. It is an old building in the process of change, other reviews have not helped. We ignored them and enjoyed every bit of it. However, sleep at the back of the building at the weekends as the noise from bands could upset those sensitive to sound. Give it a go and enjoy.
Great location , fab breakfast , And awesome Pub would recommend and stay again
the room was sufficient, but the bathroom was too small and the shower was unacceptable. the staff were ok.
the food was poor . the shower was unsuitable ,unless you are under 6 ft tall.
Fantastic location, good menu friendly staff, might have been a lovely building if it wasn't currently a building site.
It's currently a building site, no-one warned me of this when booking, there's no mention of it on the website, you turn up and find you're staying on a building site. (Oct. 14) Completely inconsiderate builders are carrying out major works and the staff exercise no control - my route back to my room was constantly blocked, there was hammering and drilling noise from both sides of the room from early morning till mid evening, and to make matters worse, every sound from the adjacent kitchen could be heard from the room from very early (pre-breakfast) to very late (after bar's last orders). And the room door - which led directly onto an exterior courtyard - was fully glazed so completely transparent, with a curtain (old and dirty) which did not fully cover it.
For ower stay the hotel was ideally located. Lovely homely feel to the hotel with welcoming staff. The room was a nice size & accommodated the 3 of us well.
The bed was awful, mattress definitely needed changing, it was so uncomfortable!
The beer was great and the pub had a good atmosphere. The food was good value and had a reasonable choice. The rooms were basic but the cost was reflective. We were on our way to a Motorcycle meet and we had parking right outside our room. The town had loads of other pubs and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!
Breakfast started too late for us so we can't comment on it. Although the 'Beer Garden' was very noisy late into the evening, we had had a good drink ourselves so it wasn't that much of a problem!
Lovely old building with character
The room was very quaint and large. The room in the back of the Inn had it's own private entrance door. Full English breakfast was included. Good location in center of town with local stores and pubs close. Price was good for a stay in a historic location. Pub was visited mostly by locals.
The bed/mattress was extremely uncomfortable with the springs sticking through. It was very loud and noisy outside early in the morning with the trash dumpsters right outside the room and sounded like construction going on for hours. We were not given breakfast on our last morning of our stay even though it was a little prior to 9am.
Lovely hotel and Stony Stratford is a nice town. Stayed for a wedding and had a lovely room on the ground floor, which was very private and roomy. We are staying again later in the year for a shopping trip. Breakfast was top notch. Great value. Staff were very friendly too.
The pub is on the high street, so location is good, however, the room we stayed in was a lot smaller than expected. Its okay if your just using it as a base to sleep, but you couldn't spend a lot of time in the room.
Despite what it states, there is not actually parking. you could possibly park a very small hatchback - but access is tricky, and you'd have fun maneuvering.
Staff very professional Location fantastic Nice atmosphere Great dinner (steak) Great big bathroom Full of history Nice court yard/garden to eat outside 'al fresco'
Mattress could be harder
room location lively boozer with nightly entertainment - breakfast was first rate
a moaning female guest that slept above the bar who had a "go" at the lovely waitress until my mate told her off!
Ample tea/ coffee facilities, bed comfortable. Staff and breakfast good. Bedroom tv was good.
Cobwebs in the room, neither bedside lights worked as bulbs had burned out.
Friendly & helpful staff quality food & service . Next visit to mk will definitely be staying again .
Food was good Staff very pleasant Entertainment unexpected but good Rooms cosy Fair price
Poor parking facilities
The location was superb , staff very friendly , comfortable room with character and nice breakfast. The pub was good. Will visit again for sure.
Could not park next to pub.
Able to park on the high st outside the pub. Staff were friendly enough Shower was good
Very uncomfortable mattresses, bedding was not as clean as it might be, the curtains were paper-thin and blocked almost no light. Room overlooks the beer garden and there was a fair bit of noise and a strong smell of smoke
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast and great beer. Central location.
Cramped shower, very poor water pressure; but it's a very old building & probably unreasonable to expect better, especially at the price. Didn't detract from the overall experience & I would stay there again.
location breakfast (although we were told it would be cooked, but the kitchen was out of action) staff were nice right on the highstreet nice to have free wi-fi, signal is a bit poor in some parts of the town
bed very un-comfy, could literally feel the springs. Not over playing this, the beds in room 1 need to be replaced! Was a saturday night when we stayed, pub was quite noisy till late.
The double room I booked was not available and a twin room offered in its place also the full English breakfast was unavailable. To be fair the hotel is undergoing alterations on the ground floor but we received conflicting messages as to why the cooked breakfast was not available. Lastly the shower head in the room would not stay in place and the cold tap on the basin had to be operated with both hands. Not impressed on this occasion.
