Friendly enough staff though didn't rush to check us in. It was very unclean - cobwebs on the walls and items on the floor left by the last guest. The shower had only one temperature -- Extremely hot, so was very uncomfortable to the point of unusable. Narrow hallways not good for suitcases. In general very run down. Definitely not worth the money, extremely disappointing. Would not go back.

The fridge worked... Cottage is too grand a name for the terraced house. Neither Wi-Fi or TV worked. Very loud music from the Pub over the road until late.

Good location, able to stroll to the city centre within 10 minutes The barstaff were too drunk to remember we were there to check-in, showers were filthy as well as freezing (no hot water!) curtains hanging off the rails. Very poor standards for the money paid

it was a good city centre setting the staff were warm and welcoming a traditional british pub b and b. the cost was very reasonable and they provided a good continental breakfast The pub had very creaky floorboards but this is a very old building and to be expected.

Warm, comfortable rooms at a competitive price. Noisy pub lounge entrance which female family members found off-putting. Common areas decorations very tired.

Toilet roll holder was broken. Fan in bathroom sounded like ajet plane taking off. Empty bottle and other litter under and behind the bed. Nowhere to hang towels, the hand towel was actually left folded on the toilet seat!

Very comfortable atmosphere and was made to feel welcome right from the start. The bed was a bit uncomfortable due to the springs sticking up in the mattress.

Location was good buts just about it. York is expensive to stay so on average for 30 per person. But our friends stayed at another the same night same price and got alot more, including a cooked breakfast. The whole place smelt of indian. On their website photos have no signs of an indian restaurant as half the pub. They hold breakfast in there and it stinks. Not nice eating toast with a curry smell. The room like going into a charity shop with random bits of furniture. We was also taken to a room and it wasn't ours, we thought it was until we noticed 4 bags next to beds where someone was already in the room. Quite surprised booking.com adverte this hotel. Wont use again but thanks anyways.

Described as an Appart but with 3 generations sharing not a good description. You had to walk thru one bedroom to reach the only bathroom. Our granddaughter found this difficult. Bathroom very cold and shower not great.

Terry and the ladies who were working in the morning, were very helpful and friendly. We were 10-15 minutes walk from York itself. Breakfast was ok. Disaapointed in our accomadation, booked a cottage, we were actually in a terraced house across the road, from the pub. It looks much nicer in the pictures on website, it was a bit tatty in places. The heating wasn't working properley part of the time we were there, boiling upstairs, freezing downstairs. Bathroom downstairs behind the kitchen, no good with young children, who need to use bathroom in the middle of the night. Tiled floor in bathroom and kitchen, that was freezing cold all the time. Kitchen and bathroom needed a clean. No good for people with mobility problems!!
