Old Grey Mare Inn by Good Night Inns  

I stay in Hotels 3 - 4 times everyweek but would be hard pressed to find anywhere with such friendly and accommodating staff. The food in the evening & at breakfast was very good.

The rooms are extremely clean and nicely decorated. Such good value for money. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows of good quality. I would definitely stay there again.

Slightly noisy when pub was closing and staff were clearing out

How handy it was for Hull University

Good location, nice friendly staff. Bed was very comfy. Only reason for visit was to catch up with friends that lived in Hull would not have stayed otherwise.

Only complaint was that toilet was not really clean needed bleach.

1. Excellent location for university visits and very convenient for bus journey to city centre. 2. Ample car parking 3. Good pub-style food 4. Clean & warm bedroom/bathroom

Only two things: 1. Booking confirmation said king-size bed. It wasn't 2. You didn't get the pudding discount (Fridays) unless the pudding was ordered at the same time as the main course. This restriction should be lifted or, at the very least, made much clearer on the menu. We ordered and ate our main course but when we went back to order the puds we had to pay full price for them. This cost us an extra £7.96

Noisy guests returning to their rooms between 1200 and 0100 and having no consideration for others.

Aside of the handrail, having stayed there a number of times this is one of the better rooms there. (Room 16)

Stayed in room 16. Room and bathroom were great but the four steps down to the bathroom really did need to have a handrail.

Bed and mattress good size and comfortable. Single room felt spacious. Ease of finding the place.

My room was directly above staff smoking area. They were loud and noisy while I was trying to get to sleep. I could not raise anybody's attention to checkout on Sunday despite knocking for a good 20 mins - reception door locked - and had to leave key and to to find some breakfast without formally checking out. I was told about breakfast times on arrival for Saturday but not told it was different for Sunday so I had not been as to make my arrangements for that. Hairdryer was missing from room. Cleaning was not up to standard - handprint already on mirror on arrival wasn't cleaned off anytime I was there. Hairs in bath. Sink overhung bath making it difficult to relax or soak without banging head on it.

Staff very welcoming and accommodating. Food excellent. Whole place was warm and clean. Location perfect for our needs.

Bit of a trek to get to some of the rooms -especially for people with walking difficulties.

As the hotel is a pub as well it was a little noisy but not too intrusive

On arrival we went to check in at the bar amd.was ignored by a male member of.staff who prefered to serve locals who came to the bar later.than us .we were not shown to our room which was.quite far away

Value for money right across, from rooms to food and drink. Friendly staff.

Breakfast took a while but was tasty when arrived.

It was very reasonably priced - it was a good size room and bathroom with a comfortable double bed. The shower was powerful and there was a good selection of towels. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Pretty décor and very clean.

There was music from under my room from 8am - luckily I brought earplugs so went back to sleep.
