The consideration of two young men..possibly Uni students ?.. when they gave up their table to allow our family group to all sit down together and enjoy a late drink. Unexpected courtesy from young people is so nice to experience.
Comfortable, giod price and decent pub too
Everything apart from the way the staff. They had no idea of cutomer/ client relationships and because of this i would not return.
when i arrived at the hotel i had a headacke, but because it was too hot in the bedroom it developed into a migrane. I do suffer with migranes and because of this i decided to leave and go back home to Grimsby after an hour of arriving. I was not offered an alternative night because of the circumstances only told thankyou and goodbye. The hotel was very nice although the staff needed more trainning in client customer relationships, a simple thankyou and goodbye was not good enough.
Food was excellent and very good value. Staff very friendly.
We had a room directly over the bar which was a bit noisy. Didn't bother us as we are good sleepers but if it is an issue for you, ask for a room at the back ... might be worth the walk!
The staff were really friendly and welcoming, as a lone female traveller it can be daunting to go somewhere but the staff on that evening were brilliant.
The bed was uncomfortable and I was unable to get the shower working (reported in the morning)
Friendly staff, location perfect for what I wanted and breakfast very tasty.
Rooms at the back of the hotel are noisy due to the extractor fan in the kitchen. There is a constant hum and low level rumble.
Comfortable and clean room. A good size with large bathroom. TV and TV reception very good. Staff very helpful and friendly. Free Parking. Extremely good value for money! We would thoroughly recommend.
Toilet Flush was a bit temperamental
The staff were all very friendly and most helpful - couldn't fault them - the bed was comfy and spotlessly clean and the room had everything you would need - it was a long way from the reception but I wanted a quiet one and that's what I got - but might be a problem with a heavy case as lots of steps.
There was nothing really - the only negative thing I could say was there was a constant smell of cooking in the bathroom coming from the extractor fan - but if you kept the door shut it wasn't a problem. Minor problem.
Noisy fans, grubby toilets.
atmosphere helpful staff pretty decent room Newlands Ave for a night out.
shower could do with an upgrade but didn't take away the good points.
We liked everything, bedrooms, food and attentive staff.
Bed not very comfy
Everything's perfect, room's large, quiet and clean. Restaurant is very popular on the ground floor that attracts lots of local residents and University students.
The staff were attentive, the room was extremely quiet and clean. Definitely great value for money and would certainly stay again should I be visiting Hull.
Staff & the food.
Very noisy at night, I was woken up various times during the night by people coming in at all hours and not giving consideration to other guests. I could also here the shower/toilet from the next room which also woke me up!!
Very claustrophobic corridors
Everything all good
We stayed overnight, had a meal& drinks the staff was brilliant and the rooms were excellent for the price
The staff, service, room, very pleasant atmosphere
limited range on the menu but OK for one night.
The welcoming attitude of the staff and the wonderful breakfast staffed with genuinely nice people.
Long walk to room, but needed it to work off the breakfast!
The staff were friendly and welcoming. Reasonable breakfast.
The rooms are down a long white, almost hospital-like corridor. Not very enticing. The rooms were clean but sparse and tired. They need refurbishing, based on the one I stayed in.
Inadequate breakfast choice and sparse eating area and settings. Appalling access to bedrooms - impossible if physically impaired. Very basic bedroom and bathroom. Bathroom fittings broken, damaged, unhygenic and potentially dangerous.
Value for money
I liked the long corridor to my room, Some do not appreciate this, Real comfortable bed, slept like a log. Very Pleasant staff, Laura In particular. Loved the fact University just across the road,If you have to do exams at Hull University this is the place to stay
Nothing, Just Fine
