The owner and other team members made me feel very welcome and at ease. The food in the bar was also amazing and great value.
Everythings is wonderful there, must be recommended to friends and will be back
It was lovely to find a host that went out of his way to make sure our stay & food was exactly right. We will defiantly go there again.
Really enjoyed our night at the old posting house. Would definitely stay there again.
The hotel was very good with very friendly staffs. The food was awesome. Rooms were clean. The dining place was beautifully decorated with so many tea pots
It would have been nice if the hotel was beside a lake

Atmosphere Outlook Rooms
Lovely friendly landlord, nice pub and we had a really comfy room, very nice décor, sky tv, good beds, great bathroom, lovely furniture and good menu choice for evening meals, what more could anyone want, we enjoyed our stay.
no complaints at all.
Modern shower and bathroom, good decoration, genuine old pub feel yet pristine condition, huge servings of good food, local and mainly English meals, nothing was a problem for the host or staff. Dogs were welcome.
Nothing to complain about.
The chap who owned it seemed like a really nice bloke. Friendly and accommodating welcome. Superb full English breakfast. Nice clean room - comfy bed. Awesome power shower.
Bit of a mix up with breakfast so the two of us got an English breakfast each but 25 minutes apart. Was a bit further out of Cockermouth than expected but that was my own fault for not looking at the map properly.
freindly country pub nice clean refurbished rooms excellant meals and beer great landlord and sky sports
nothing to dislike
Very clean Modern rooms Good WiFi connection Excellent food Very friendly staff Nice local countryside
We received a very warm welcome in a lovely old Inn. The bedroom was top class with the most comfortable bed. Breakfast was hearty. View from the bedroom window was lovely.
Bed room only had a blind on the window but is in need of curtains to keep out the morning light.
Mick is a landlord who runs his Inn for the benefit of customers, not for profit. The food is cooked on the premises to a high standard - all the meals we tried were delicious, and the menu is quite extensive, including traditional pub fare, fish dishes, and a hint of the orient. The rooms are spacious, clean and airy, with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. The Inn is a Freehouse, and the beer, wine and whisky selection is fine.
The bar was lovely and cosy. The rooms were fab and breakfast was soooooo good.
The noise from the road was a bit loud even with ear plugs. The rooms were really warm too.
The staff were very obliging and friendly, the room was comfortable and the breakfasts very substantial. The location is quiet and most convenient for visiting all parts of the Lake District. I would like to visit the area again and would be very happy to stay at the Old Posting House.
Food rooms staff all great no complaints great place to stay
Nothing to dislike
I found the Old Posting House to be welcoming and friendly as a lone traveller. The room was spacious and clean and had everything you could need.
Mick was the friendliest, most obliging and helpful owner. The atmosphere, the surroundings, the rooms, the food, were all excellent. Great breakfast! Recommend it highly.
Nothing - even the teapot collection amused us
