freindly country pub nice clean refurbished rooms excellant meals and beer great landlord and sky sports
nothing to dislike
Very clean Modern rooms Good WiFi connection Excellent food Very friendly staff Nice local countryside
We received a very warm welcome in a lovely old Inn. The bedroom was top class with the most comfortable bed. Breakfast was hearty. View from the bedroom window was lovely.
Bed room only had a blind on the window but is in need of curtains to keep out the morning light.
Mick is a landlord who runs his Inn for the benefit of customers, not for profit. The food is cooked on the premises to a high standard - all the meals we tried were delicious, and the menu is quite extensive, including traditional pub fare, fish dishes, and a hint of the orient. The rooms are spacious, clean and airy, with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. The Inn is a Freehouse, and the beer, wine and whisky selection is fine.
The bar was lovely and cosy. The rooms were fab and breakfast was soooooo good.
The noise from the road was a bit loud even with ear plugs. The rooms were really warm too.
The staff were very obliging and friendly, the room was comfortable and the breakfasts very substantial. The location is quiet and most convenient for visiting all parts of the Lake District. I would like to visit the area again and would be very happy to stay at the Old Posting House.
I found the Old Posting House to be welcoming and friendly as a lone traveller. The room was spacious and clean and had everything you could need.
Mick was the friendliest, most obliging and helpful owner. The atmosphere, the surroundings, the rooms, the food, were all excellent. Great breakfast! Recommend it highly.
Nothing - even the teapot collection amused us
A fantastic place to stay. We loved our 2 night stay very much. Mick the owner was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were exceptional. We had an evening meal on our first night it was very very good and value for money, would recommend 'the old posting house' to anyone looking for value, comfort, good food, and friendly staff. Looking forward to our next visit there in the future.
There is nothing we didn't like.
- nice host - comfortable room and bed - clean
- expensive for what you got
The food and the people. Very comfortable bed
I'm 6ft 5 and, despite booking weeks in advance, we were given a room with a very low sloping ceiling that made it extremely difficult to move around
the rooms are spotless and very comfortable and the staff can't do enough for you . the meals and breakfast are delicious big thanks to mick for a lovely break in the lakes.
Mike was so friendly and went out his way to make me feel very welcome and at home. I will look forward to staying here again in the future.
Mick the owner was so helpful and full of great stories about his travels, the breakfast was wonderful, dinner in the pub was excellent too, parking, not far from sea
Lovely clean room and great cooked breakfast. Also had an evening meal which was very nice.
The warmth of the place and the owner. Was welcomed with a warm greating when arrived and it carried on throughout the stay. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable. I loved the bathroom.
Room TV Bed Food
The friendly welcome by the owner and staff. The landlord waited for us to arrive although he had to be somewhere else. That was very nice of him to do so. The rooms was excellent and very clean.
There was nothing that I did not like about the Old Posting House.
Nothing wrong with anything.value for money.
Friendly, clean, large room, tastefully decorated
Very helpful staff, great food, very clean impressive accomodation, would recommend
Very friendly warm welcome All the staff were great The food was brilliant
The only thing we did not like is that we could not stay longer.
The modern facilities. comfortable room and bed. Huge meals. The pub had a great history, loved the teapots hanging everywhere. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Nothing to report.
The room and the bathroom were very nice. The food was great. Our host was a very kind and helpful gentleman. We enjoyed staying at Old Posting House.
The bigger towels had a strange smell of vinegar but it was not a problem since there were two smaller towels which smelled alright :-)
