warm welcome , good food , clean new and bright. Peaceful and quiet.

Everything! Location was spot on for me, the accomodation was very spacious and clean; Mick the proprietor could not do enough to ensure everything was good. Food in the bar was excellent and breakfast very tasty and plentiful. Large car park very welcome. All round very very good and highly recommended. (I also had no problem with phone reception!)

Comfortable rooms, good quality pillows, rare thing, very friendly honest owner, nice food, particularly the breakfast. Easy on site parking. Good location for my needs. Would stay here again.

Bit noisy on a main road but have decent windows so that helps. Hotel doesnt look amazing from the outside but dont let that put you off.

Mick was so hospitable and very friendly, I felt really welcome and didn't want to leave, it was a real 'home from home' so cosy and comfortable. The food is amazing and there's an extensive menu. Nothing is too much trouble and you are really well looked after. Great rooms with lovely views, very spacious and a fab shower plus loads of parking. A great place to stay whatever the season and whatever the weather! Loved it!

Very friendly welcome with nothing too much trouble. The accommodation was very clean, warm and comfortable. Food was excellent value and delicious (the mixed grill beat my husband - there's a first!!!). Definitely going back.

A warm and friendly welcome awaits travellers here. Nothing is too much trouble to ensure guests have a comfortable and pleasurable stay. My travelling companion from America gave the breakfasts 5 *****'s, and well deserved too! Set in beautiful countryside with the lovely historic town of Cockermouth not a stonesthrow away - what more can I add? I highly recommend the Old Posting House as one of the best B&B's I have visited, and certainly hope to revisit later in the year. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay Mick! I returned home so well chilled I didn't know what day it was - and cared even less! Wonderful! See you again in the Summer xx

There was nothing I didn't like about the Old Posting House.

We really enjoyed the friendly atmomosphere. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The evening meal selection was very good and terrific quality and value, Free wifi is also a bonus for a small B&B

Very friendly, clean and comfortable. I ate the poached haddock with new potatoes and it was really delicious. Had read a previous review 9.2 and it was well worth it.

The quality of the accommodation,food, the welcome could not be bettered. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the only regret I have is that I was only able to stay for one night.
