This lovely, old stone building is at the foothills of the Black Mountains amid beautiful countryside and views of the Brecon Beacons. It has a restful feel, comfortable rooms and a free Wi-Fi zone.
Score from 91 reviews Very good
our hosts were very pleasant and did their best for you.
the room had a smell about it,could not work out if the un comfortable bed had been wet or it was the washing powder. also the place was not well signed for finding had to ask a local where it was and he said we must be the 10th people who have asked him this year so more signage needed
The friendliness of the staff. Breakfast was good.
I was not happy that I did not have an en-suite. The sign states B and B with en-suite. The room was supposed to be superior double room, very little space , too much furniture making it difficult to move around. I was disturbed by someone coming in at 2 :00a.m. going upstairs, they walked about until after 3:00a.m. I could not get back to sleep!!
Lynn & Steve were excellent hosts, very friendly. Very comfortable room and nice facilities. Breakfasts were excellent and a good hearty home-cooked dinner pre-booked for arrival saved the day as everything closes early. Talgarth itself is lovely to walk around and it was really convenient for Brecon Beacons,
Rather difficult to find. A signpost on the main road would have been useful. Bit noisy in the night as we were on ground floor and the floorboards above creak and sound of conversation travels down.
Nice friendly atmosphere, well appointed accommodation in lovely part of country
Friendly welcome and accommodating service. Food excellent.
the whole place the owners like family!! So warm and welcoming!! Amazing stay!! Xx
having to leave!! I'm booking again next year!!!!
The King suite was vey small and not what I was expecting. Also I found that the amount paid compared unfavorably with other bookings we had made through this web site.
Steve and Lyn were very welcoming and the food excellent. The room was very comfortable.
We didn't sleep very well. The rooms could have done with some sound proofing. We were kept awake by someone above with creaking floor and talking and television and then awakened by snoring at 4am onwards. Someone slammed the door in the next room at 4am the next morning. The third night we were awakened by a dog coughing 3 times in the next room. The couple told us the next morning that he had developed a cough and was on antibiotics.
A very friendly and homely feel. The breakfast was lovely and it was a good sized, comfortable bed. The area is beautiful and had we stayed for longer I am sure there would have been some lovely day trips out.
Not much sound proofing between rooms.
Some difficulty finding the barn
The room was very clean and we both enjoyed a very good breakfast.
Very good breakfast. Friendly staff Clean
Location - mistakenly thought it was more rural Cost was expensive as we booked a room without an en suite (although this was our error). Felt a bit like being in someone's house as breakfast room was their lounge
All of it was excellent
Needs to have a sign on the main road to show where it is so if you are coming back late as we did from a wedding you can find it.
Our hosts steve and lynne made us welcome as soon as we arrived. Our room was lovely. Beds were fabulously comfortable. Breakfast was delicious .
Comfortable bed Lovely bathroom
Being woken by the gardner shovelling gravel outside our bedroom window at 7.30am. No choice of how eggs cooked at breakfast.
Lovely people and a great quiet location.
Were charged £25 for a 4 mile journey
comfortably soft beds. good breakfast.
expensive. staff could have been friendlier. no offer of cuppa or advice on locality. falsely advertised power shower in ensuite.
Central location, close to attractions we wanted to visit
Better signage required.
Clean Great breakfast Large room, en suite Easy parking Near village Kayaking, hiking Views of hills
Garden was incredibly beautiful. People in Talgarth village were so friendly. Easy to get to by car. Very very clean rooms. Food was tasty
Building noise. Being asked to post a review by hosts. Shower in bathroom was really tiny, fan made noise for hours after light was on. Did not feel lounge was for use by guests but more of the hosts lounge. Door was closed all the time.
They were really welcoming even though we arrived really late. A great breakfast in the morning too with lovely sausages and bacon. The room was great and beds so comfortable. Shower room was really clean and shower lovely.
Nothing it was all good
Very friendly couple and son who made us feel welcome from the start. This was an overnight stay en route to collect our son and was a relaxing evening followed by a lovely breakfast. Would certainly stay here again due to its ideal location for us.
One of the best cooked breakfast I have had at a guest place.
Limited parking, but public car park next to guest house.
Lynn and Stephen made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. They didn't mind catering for my husband's dietary needs and the food was delicious. The bed was really comfortable, we were rejuvenated after our stay.
