Tired, dirty, stained carpets, rusty radiator in bathroom, brown stains in between grouting of tiles, pubic hairs on toilet floor....repulsive!

easy to find , it looked nice in lounge and reception oldy worldy.

poor condition of hotel room, bed a 3/4 double not mentioned when booking. fixtures loose, door handle nearly came off in our hand. 1 pillow between the two of us, mattress we could feel the springs. mould bottom of shower, extractor fan sounded like a plane engine. dining room tables very small to get food onto. breakfast not worth the £5.00 we paid each due to the following ,although breakfast cooked to order i had to butter toast in my hand no plate , had to ask for cutlery, and condments not available so food practically cold by the time i got some. one bloke doing cooking and serving us so had to wait for him to come out to ask for things.

good location for what we wanted.Easy accsess to multiple places.Staff were excellent for a young couple & couldn't do enough for you. Obviously a old building been " the old vicarage" but needs some tlc spent in the rooms, & more comfy bed,but not saying there all like that overall we enjoyed our weekend stay there & would stay again

The staff were absolutely brilliant. They were friendly and bent over backwards to help. The room was very clean and comfortable.

It was cheap and when I asked for some rowdy guests to be spoken to at gone 1 in the morning it was dealt with quickly and efficiently.

The room wasn't very clean, the window was not secure and the shower curtain was filthy. Despite s request for ketchup with breakfast, there was none. The answer being 'the owner doesn't allow us to buy it'. It's a cheap stay but improvements are needed. Personally in the future I would pay a bit extra and stay at the Premier Inn.

Room 8: No lights in bathroom. Fungus in bathroom. Used shampoo sachets in shower. Carpet dirty. No WIFI as advertised. No phone to contact staff to inform them. WOuldnt stay again if you paid me.

All public areas smell of smoke, rooms are £40.00 on booking .com and advertised at 19.99 on a sign at the hotel No bar. Breakfast swimming in grease. No specialty teas. No brown toast. Car park rutted and muddy. Basically crap

Clean white bedding and new toilet and hand basin. Good tv. Quiet room. Nice and warm.

The room smelt very strong of cigarettes which left a smell on me and my clothes. Room could have done with a good deep clean. Bathroom was half renivated but gouting wasblack in shower and radiator was rusty.

Poor hotel would not recommend to anyone. Should not be on your site!!!!

My room was clean,warm and comfortable. Lovely well cooked breakfast at the times requested. Staff, although only saw three, were polite and friendly.

Dining area was maybe not as clean as it could have been? Some crumbs and spillages around!

Absolutely nothing.

This establishment takes away any possible feel-good factor in staying in a hotel. It was shabby, smelled, was unclean, the staff were clueless, the electricity went off 4 times in my room on my first night. They insisted on payment up front for the duration of the stay. I'm sure this is because people would rarely choose to stay for a second night having experienced this establishment. The website is entirely misleading as it promises a sort of faded charm fawlty-towers establishment. The reality is a very down-at-heel budget hostel. Without a doubt, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

The staff were friendly. Good size TV in room.

Whilst the room was clean the bathroom ceiling was covered in black damp patches. The beds were old.

Excellent service both on arrival, and cooked breakfast was served before I even sat down!

there was a pool table downstairs and the guys who ran the hotel were friendly

rooms were a bit shabby, beds were a bit grubby. the bathroom tap fell off in my hand

The room cleanliness was appalling, it had not been hoovered or dusted, the bathroom had rubbish from the previous occupant still on the bath, the bath panel had been kicked in and not repaired.

Carpet dirty. Bed uncomfortable, had to put blanket between mattress and sheet. Room cold, heater controlled from reception. First night had to go and ask for it to be switched on. Heater went off during second night, had to put overcoat over the duvet to stay warm. No phone in room to contact reception. Had to pay upfront for room and breakfast. First breakfast was served, on second morning arrived for breakfast, dining room locked, no one on reception. Rang bell person arrived and said it was cooks day off. As I had paid I demanded breakfast, I had to wait while one was cooked. £5.00 for a tastless plate of food.

Great hotel. It was only £20 a night each and close enough to the city centre yet far enough away for peace and quiet. Staff were extremely helpful and couldn't have been more pleasant. Rooms were clean and nice and warm.

unfriendly reception, the room was cold,we had to go to reception and ask for the heater to be turned on. it was then turned off at reception during the night ( in freezing weather ) so cold in the morning. the room smelled bad and the spray they had used to try to mask it was choking us. The bath had mould around it, there was a large section of tiles missing from the wall above the toilet and paint hanging off the ceiling. the floors had not been vaccuumed and there were paint splashes all over the carpets

Friendly staff - warm and spacious rooms. Lovely old building.

Had to ask for the (electric) heating to be switched on (evening), even though it was cold weather, and in the morning (frosty morning) had to ask again. The dining room was very cold (heating off), and our breakfasts went cold quicker than we could eat. The room was clean, but shabby, and tiles were missing and falling off in the bathroom.

could do with cosmetic refurb paint work off colour curtains with mold stains more attention could be paid to outside area cleaning up leaves at entrance
