Comfortable, warm & clean. Lovely breakfast.
good breakfast and great guest beers
Evening meal not fantastic but there is a good restaurant opposite.
Great location, Bedroom very nice, bathroom clean but needed a revamp.Breakfast very good.Value for money.
The room was huge and well furnished and the breakfast was lovely
The restaurant was closed, there was a live band on that was easily heard from our room as were people talking outside while smoking, the seating in the lounge wasn't the most comfortable and the bed was 2 singles zipped together, which I'm afraid is never any good
Good location, comfy bed. Room layouts worked well for us; Mum struggles with stairs and we were all on ground floor in adjacent rooms. Breakfast was good. Staff all very nice. Tim Taylor Landlord top notch!
Eating area just an extension to what is a rustic bar area - don't expect a pleasant dining room experience. Menu is locally themed but food not great. Public areas need an update. Would be reasonable value at £45-50 per room - pretty poor at £75.
Even though our double room was unavailable due to a burst water pipe we were offered a twin room which far exceeded our expectations of size or quality of what we expected
The Bar was good, staff very friendly, location was good for my stay.
Very cold room, no shower in one room, premises more than a little run down.
Super friendly welcome.
There were a few small things I could critisise but I don't expect 5 star facilities for 3 star prices.
Decor. Bed and furniture quality. Shower quality. Creaky floors. Puts the 'old' into old fashioned.
The staff the food the location the landlord
Large, comfortable rooms. Brilliant local museum.
Room TV old and small.
the location was ideal for us it was central for all pubs , shops and food
bit pricy but i put that down to where it is
The hole time furniture broken staff un helpful. Food not even cooking on premises
TV too small Kettle in dangerous position No light for drying hair
Yet again a warm welcome and room we knew [1 or 2 ] overlooks the street.Yes the bathroom is noisy n creaks n such but remember this is an old building with modern comforts added not premier inn.Looking forward to our next visit.. Thankyou Pete and Staff
Evening meal menu has changed since our last visit. Can only assume due to too much competition up town?
the staff were excellent, my room was good value for money.
overall the inn was a little tired looking the fruit bowl at breakfast was very disappointing.
The room and bed where very comfortable and homely. The bar was also homely with friendly locals there.
I liked the pub and cheerful staff. The town is charming full of small shops. We visited Yorkshire dales and moors which were in reasonable distance.
Quaint rooms. Plenty to eat at breakfast and all freshly made. Pleasant staff.
Limited vegetarian choice on breakfast menu
You need a good cleaner.and check the bed for bugs
Very warm, Hospitable & comfortable
The bedroom was large and the bed was comfortable.
The shower in the bath was not convenient to use. With the toilet alongside the head of the bath, entry and exit was not easy. The evening meal was disappointing and they could not find a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine.
The room we stayed in was very spacious and very comfortable and the massive bed was to die for,the staff were very friendly and the food excellent and the breakfast was brilliant, would stay there again, thank you for the welcoming stay
the only fault was the shower needed more water pressure
Dog hairs in room-got on our clothes, room docor poor, had evening meal which was inedible coursing us to complain.
