Good central location for a walk into town for supper. Freshly cooked breakfast to order. Will stay again next time we are in Rutland. Easy free parking, only problem was wi-fi use.
Our room was very comfortable and roomy. We had a view of trees across the road which was a pleasant surprise. There was a good selection of places to eat in the town within an easy walk of the hotel. Staff were polite and welcoming. We would recommend this hotel to others.
The only thing I thought could be improved on would be if a map of the town was provided.
Damp on the walls
Clean, comfortable hotel with excellent breakfast. One of the nicest hotels we've stayed in.
Lovely hotel, very clean. Good size rooms, free parking. Min from Victoria Hall where I attended a wedding. Beautiful area, would visit again.
From arriving to leaving we found the staff, especially Katie who seemed to be around most of the time, very helpful and obliging. The location of the Wisteria is excellent. We had a ground floor bedroom which was not a problem and there was very little noise from traffic. We certainly enjoyed the experience.
Nothing to complain about
Good parking, good downstairs toilets.
More could be made of the old bar area, night porter indicated just in time at 10:55 on Saturday night, too much space given to empty restaurant area, no lounge area to sit in.
Thoughtful staff. When I was ill a tray of coffee and toast was dispatched to my room and advice given on seeking medical advice at the hospital .
Lovely big rooms, fab bathroom, great breakfast, great location.
Bed was a little uncomfortable, and the walls seemed very thin.
Bathroom very clean
Rooms and service
Good beds and good breakfast
Lack of pleasant sitting area in public place. Next room first night had TV on until 3.00am.
beds. falling to bits - terrible. noone said that the 'bar' existed. Didn't see until we left
I am on a gluten free diet and was provided for which doesn't always happen in other hotels I have stayed at. Also it was near the centre of Oakham and were able to find plenty of places to eat
There was nothing we didn't like
The hotel was quiet and we slept with no disturbances. Good staff rappore
The bath unit was a little slippery when showering and a bath mat would be useful.
Nice small hotel, good value.
Very convenient to Oakham High St. Good breakfast. Good for parking.
I would describe the Wisteria as dreary. Eg nice flowering shrubs in the borders which could be used to brighten the dining room.
Breakfast room is quite nice. Cooked meal was ok.
Attitude of serving staff was not very welcoming. A minimalist breakfast - 2 pieces of toast and I was not asked if I wanted more.
Hotel was tired looking, dining room also tired looking.
Stayed for two nights on an East Midlands cycling trip. Huge first floor room with a four poster bed. Utilitarian though adequate furniture, ditto decoration. Despite being on one of the main roads out of Oakham, noise was not a problem. Wired internet in the room which was excellent, no need to try Wi-Fi which was also available I believe. Breakfast was more than adequate.
Hotel exterior urgently needs attention especially the newish block alongside car park. Main access is from the back of the hotel but it looks very shabby from the main road.
Debbie, is a very amenable Australian, welcoming and always had a moment to chat. Ellie is a very efficient and polite assistant. Very comfortable and clean accommodation. Highly recommended on these standards.
Insufficient car parking, but public c p next door - free 6pm to 8am
Breakfast, size of room and bathroom
Beds quite soft
Peace and quiet and the room and breakfast .
Not being able to have dinner. Apparently we had to book in advance which we were not aware of
Private parking, super staff, good sized room. quiet.Breakfast was very good
bar smelt of smoke/soot,food choice was basic if not a little boring
