Friendly and good location. relaxed atmosphere felt that it needs a bit of TLC. Paint work was shabby. Fireplace in lounge was full of rubbish and lots of cigarette butts outside the front door detracted from the charm of the building

The actual building is really wonderful and its location as part of the m.arket place is most appealling. The surrounding countryside is also very lovely with easy access to Norwich and the seaside The hotel has a very tired, lack lustre feel about it and it has most certainly seen better days.Although, on the whole the staff were friendly and helpful there was little evidence of up to date, energetic and vibrant management. There is a great difference between being relaxed and being copletetely disengaged.

The staff were freindly and very helpful. On the first night we eat at the reasurant which was siutated in the conservatory, the food and service was excerlent. The breakfast was good. On the second day we had breakfast in bed the service was prompt and the breakfast basket was was excerlent. The hotel decor is in need of update. One disappointment was the pool was not available for use and there was no informaion on the hotel facilities in the room which meant that we had to ask at reception for such details as gym and pool openign hours as well as bar and reasurant opengn times and check out times. The hotel might also have benifited from providing more local information in the rooms. Another big disappiontment was the bathroom which although clean and functional it was in need of updating and replacing.

Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was very nice and the price was very reasonable. Lovely relaxing atmosphere in the hotel bar in the evening and the by gone decor created a very homely feel.

Excellent customer service from all the staff. A leakage in the bathroom of original room allocated was passed to staff and we were immediately transferred without question to another room. Breakfast and evening meals very good value for money , served quickly and fresh and hot. Everywhere clean, linen in rooms spotless. Pleasant location within a very interesting little town with lots of history. The bed was hard and no comfortable chairs to sit in and read or watch television in the evening. People should not be expected to stay out of the room all day and evening, especially older ones, we need some comfort.Previous reviews we had read before travelling suggested building 'tired', this is very true with tatty chipped paintwork and damaged wallpaper. Also we had a ground floor room which was quiet to start but when people moved into the room above it was possible to hear every movement and even the plug being pulled out of a wall socket which disrupted our last night so that we were glad to leave. Oxford Inns need to up the maintenance of the building inside and out and install some soundproofing and double glazing. The hotel staff do their very best and are let down by the state of the building.

The location suited us as we were visiting family and it was the best location to break the journey. The food was very good and the staff friendly. The beds were clean. It was obviously in dire need of an update and redecoration

Nice, but small village Pool opening times not we're not user friendly. They were closed between 2 and 5. Most people would have liked a swim before getting ready for dinner. Pool opened at eight am so since breakfast was 8 to 9.30 swimming would not have been practical till at least ten, and then you would have lost a large portion of the morning. On the whole rooms clean and comfortable but dated. Good full English breakfast and warm friendly staff.

good location in attractive market town at an attractive internet price The included breakfasts were very good and the girls serving breakfast always very pleasant Room was adequate (certainly clean) but did require a complete makeover - we would use it again as long as long as we got the same deal as this time (Double En Suite £50 per night incl Breakfast) If you want state of the art TV's and ultra modern plumbing etc. this is not for you, if,however, you are prepared to compromise a little and can secure a reasonable room rate you would probably cosider it fair value for money. Hotel very tired and requires an extensive makeover - service very slow at times (waited in bar one night for drink but nobody came to serve so gave up after 5 mins or so)

No section for what you did not like about the hotel, the hotel states that there is a night porter ...........on returning from a family gathering the hotel door was locked, and it took an hour before we raised the attention of anothe resident to let us in. the person on duty for that night was asleep in one of the rooms.

The lunch we had was excellent - straightforward, good food; cooked perfectly & on hot plates! Breakfast was also very good - the kipper was delicious. Not really a complaint & I would be sorry to see the historical character of the hotel affected - our rooms were just a tad in need of some decoration. But the beds were comfy, lots of hot water; shower and bath! We spent a quiet, comfortable night, We hope to return in the spring.
