Swimming pool and table tennis in adjoining mini leisure centre great for children. Don't stay out too late as they shut the doors at 11:30!

Great location and atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast and evening meal were very good. The room needed decorating and the bathroom needs updated. The beds also were very hard.

good location in attractive market town at an attractive internet price The included breakfasts were very good and the girls serving breakfast always very pleasant Room was adequate (certainly clean) but did require a complete makeover - we would use it again as long as long as we got the same deal as this time (Double En Suite £50 per night incl Breakfast) If you want state of the art TV's and ultra modern plumbing etc. this is not for you, if,however, you are prepared to compromise a little and can secure a reasonable room rate you would probably cosider it fair value for money. Hotel very tired and requires an extensive makeover - service very slow at times (waited in bar one night for drink but nobody came to serve so gave up after 5 mins or so)

No section for what you did not like about the hotel, the hotel states that there is a night porter ...........on returning from a family gathering the hotel door was locked, and it took an hour before we raised the attention of anothe resident to let us in. the person on duty for that night was asleep in one of the rooms.

The b & b was excellent value for money with a very good breakfast. There is also a comfortable bar and lounge area. The room was comfortable enough but somewhat basic in appearance. The dinner was also very enjoyable. Requires some redecoration to the bedrooms.

The lunch we had was excellent - straightforward, good food; cooked perfectly & on hot plates! Breakfast was also very good - the kipper was delicious. Not really a complaint & I would be sorry to see the historical character of the hotel affected - our rooms were just a tad in need of some decoration. But the beds were comfy, lots of hot water; shower and bath! We spent a quiet, comfortable night, We hope to return in the spring.

Although well situated for requirements the hotel looked rundown, staff non existent, chef did however cook a good breakfast but the room, although cleanish drasticly needs refushiment. The bed was like sleeping on a bed of concrete

Location plus it could be lovely if they refurbished it and got rid of most of the staff. All that we didn't like would be considered as complaints and there are many.

The food was excellent all freshly prepared to order. . The public areas were very tired and in need of refreshment. The paintwork was badly chipped on doors and frames and there were dirty hand and foot marks on the newer white (grey) doors and frames

The staff were very helpful. We were given the opportunity to order an evening meal, by phone, as we were returning from a function and didn't know if we would arrive at the hotel before 9.00pm. This was most considerate and much appreciated, and the food was excellent as well!!

Good location for access to most North Norfolk Very badly in need of tlc, with no evidence of general maintenance or refurbishment work for years - would not want to stay here again, as it felt tired and dirty.

Me, my partner and 9week old daughter stayed at the hotel mainlyfor use of the swimming pool which was shut at 6pm and we didnt check in till then. Th room was basic but we had reserved a cot which wasn't there on arrival, when it did arrive it was old and tired and the sheets were not clean so im glad ibrought my own. Also our bed was like sleepin on a concrete slab! The spings were coming through and made it a very uncomfortable sleep. On complaining the receptionist rudley said "yeah some of them are like that" and no apology was mentioned. Some of the staff are quite rude and not very helpful. The whole hotel needs updating. As we had a small baby with us they placed us right at the back of the hotel so we couldn't take the pushchair up with us and had to struggle with her and our overnight things.

In our opinion , although the hotel is now somewhat dated and could do with a makeover the staff make the very best of what they have to offer . the bedroom was clean and comfortable as was the bathroom (though you had to flush the loo more than once for it to work properly) . the restaurant was always well presented with clean tablecloths and a full set of shiny cutlery which the staff worked very hard at keeping clean . we thought the menu represented very good value , starter , main course and a bottle of wine for around fifty quid , very good and very well cooked .the staff were very friendly but never in your face . overall then , not top top luxury but reasonable people would not expect that at these prices , very good value and we would stay there again .we most certainly enjoyed our two night stay this time around . We ve already mentioned the loo and just the general run down feel of the place due to wear and tear . however to put that right would cost a great deal of money and lift the hotel charges into a different price bracket so were being a bit unfair perhaps .

The receptionist was lovely and gave us a substantial discount for a very disappointing stay Well if you like a shabby old hotel which hasn't seen a coat of paint in years, where the fire exits are propped open all night, the bathrooms need updating, the food is 3663 hotel catering food, not fresh cooked, and our room had the water heating boiler vent 3 feet from the window and it fired up every 30 minutes all night - then this is the hotel for you!
