The owners and staff could not do enough for you and their main concern was that you were happy and had everything you wanted. The food was very good and the rooms though basic were spotless as were the bathrooms, loads of clean towels each day. We were visiting family and needed a base so it suited us perfectly will definately stay there again.

A charming old building, centally located in Royston a short drive to Cambridge. Good breakfast. Doubtless we were put in a budget room which was rather cramped but the over whelming problem was the cold. The heating in the room & bathroom and the adjacent corridors was not on and it was very cold. Outside was only +6 degrees and even when the radiators were turned on the room remained cold all night. When we went down for breakfast even the dining area was unheated. One member of staff searched the hotel for blankets to put on the bed but could only come up with a bedspread. Perhaps the heating in the rooms should be turned on before the guests arrive!

The location of the old bull was great for where we were visiting. The staff gave a warm friendly welcome and during our short stay nothing was too much trouble for them. We had 4 rooms booked and the room I stayed in was top class, 4 poster bed and a free standing roll top bath....pure luxury. The bar and food menu had a great choice., And the open fire in the bar was a lovely warming touch. I would not hesitate to recommend The Old Bull Inn to anyone visiting the Royston area and if in the area again would stay there.

Freshly cooked breakfast, well kept beer and 2 good fillet steaks. After a lovely, sunny Autumn day, the temperature plummeted and our bedroom was cold. It was the first cold night of the season, so it wasn't the hotel's fault!

The staff were friendly, helpful and very professional. Cramped single room - barely room to squeeze into the desk chair. Also the shower stall was rather tight. Perhaps this is to be expected for an old hotel in an urban center. Upon reflection I've been in even smaller rooms elsewhere.

Beautifully located in the centre of Royston with easy access to the Duxford Air Show. Good parking. Great welcome from owners on arrival. Beautifully clean and comfortable room. Lovely old pub and all the village facilities within a 2 to 3 minute walk. The breakfast let it down. Because everything else was superb I really expected the breakfast to be just as good. It wasn't, it was less than good. The breakfast staff didn't seem to know what they were doing, the table had sticky glass rings on it from the night before and I had to ask for a cloth. No teaspoons with the tea cups. I asked for simple poached eggs on brown toast with mushrooms. I could have played tennis with the eggs which also had shell in them and the solitary half a mushroom was uncuttable, I could have mended my shoes with it. Needless to say I didn't eat it. My partner felt the same about his. We decided against breakfast on the second morning so as not to be disappointed. However, I would go again, absolutely, but just wouldn't have the breakfast. So, yes, I would recommend to others but don't have breakfast!!!

Staff were very helpful, the Inn had some good real ale and the breakfast was very good. Parking was a problem as the pub car park was full when we arrived at 6pm due to a function, we had to put the car in the public car park beside the inn, however as a market is held here on a Saturday you are not allowed to park overnight. As my wife and I wanted to have a drink during the evening we were not happy to move it later in the evening when space in the Inn car park became available. However after complaining some staff members removed some cars which allowed us to park. The Inn should have reserved residents parking for guests as the alternative is to park in the street. We did intend to eat at a local restaurant but decided to eat at the Old Bull, this proved to be a bad move as the food was not great, tip to the chef, cook you meat in the steak and ale pie more I was unable to eat it. However the rooms were great and the staff very friendly, this place could be a fantastic place but just needs some small changes.

The room was large and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, if a bit overstretched as they were also serving the pub customers. There is a step down from the bedroom to the bathroom which is potentially dangerous, especially in the dark. (My back is still recovering days later.) The hotel is also attached to a pub and is best for people who do not require quiet until after the pub closes.
