Very good,
Score from 75 reviews
“ This was a very quiet and restful location. However, still within easy reach of Tavistock, Gunnislake and local National Trust properties. The welcome was friendly and the service good. ”

Bovey Tracey
This lovely 19th century carriage house is set on the edge of Dartmoor, close to historic Tavistock and the Tamar Valley. The valley is of outstanding natural beauty, yet only 15 miles from Plymouth. The Coach House was built on a site, which was originally an Anglo Saxon settlement in 850 AD. It was built by The Duke of Bedford in 1857 to his own design as part of a model farm. It was sold in 1988 and converted to a 3-star hotel. The hotel regrets that it cannot accommodate children under the age of 5. A typical Coach House nice surroundings. Rooms are adequate, clean and tidy. Tea and coffee facilities in each room. The restaurant is excellent really well prepared food with good variety. Very nice breakfasts more than I could eat. Highly recommended. Slightly out of the way in a small village.

The food was excellent. The evening meal had a good menu selection. The sizzling beef was excelent. Roast pork off the special board was also very good. The breakfasts are also first class, good quality and good quanity. Our room was cold (it was February) but we were quickly supplied with a convector heater. The room was adequate for a one night stay but a little tired.

Olde World Hotel and very comfortable, friendly staff, good food There were 2 ways to get to the Hotel, one of which involved a drive down a very long narrow lane, with high hedges on both sides, where you had to hope nothing was coming the other way! I would not like to negotiate this in the dark, but that is the only thing I did not like. The other lane which we did not find out about until the next day is not quite as narrow and not so far from the main road

Location. A cold, damp unwelcoming place with food to match, what a poor excuse for an hotel or whatever the anti social miserable owner would chose to call it.not until hell freezes over will we return. One tip is sell up to somebody who actually cares about device and repeat business.never again.disgracfull place.nice location ruined by the owner.

It was close to the wedding we attended and was really good for the group I went with. That apparently taxis don't run on Sundays! But the hotel owner did his best to find a taxi for us.

We enjoyed the food, the welcome and the room was lovely. It was particularly nice to find the 'staff' just as welcoming and attentive as the hosts. Nice atmosphere and recommended for anyone looking to stay in the vicinity. Nothing negative to say.
