Hotel had all facilities you would expect , rooms were excellent with lovely views looking over the golf course, Disappointed that we were unable to book the Road Hole Restaurant on the Saturday or Sunday evening as booked for a function on the Saturday and not open on the Sunday. Road Hole bar also had restricted access due to Saturday function which impacted on our enjoyment in using this facility, so check prior to booking if you wish to dine or relax there.

This was one of the few hotels which actually is five star accomodation. The staff were excellent and very friendly coupled with great facilities. Only one small point is that the restaurant on the 4th floor (Road Hole bar) is probably in need of a revamp to fall in line with the rest of the hotel. The Jigger Inn attached to the hotel was also very good with excellent staff and good food.

Excellent stay. Would return. Sooner rather then later. This hotel is pure luxury, The only thing that lets them down is the fact that they use cheap toilet rolls. This does spoil things in the bathroom as everything else is beautiful.

We walked the complete Old Course ... had lunch in the Jigger ... food was good ... service was at best alright. We went to the room and relaxed, watched a movie and had tea and the staff if we asked if we wanted water and our bed turned down ... off to the spa ... loved the spa area all the free features with the exception of the lap pool way too cold advised the attendant. Had dinner in Sands ... excellent food ... good staff. Morris the golf gent very nice and the concierge was very nice and front desk staff with the exception of the red head young girl (who checked to see if our room was ready) very cold, it was like she was doing us a favor checking to see if our room was available .. loved our stay this was associated with the hotel ... we golfed at the Castle course and the girl that greeted us at the course Claire ... she said you didn't pay for your clubs ... to which I replied we never said we paid for them and are quite willing to pay for them ... very inappropriate other wise it was perfect

This was a midweek 2 night stay. We both thought the hotel was excellent, especially the staff. Very attentive without being intrusive. Complimentary glass of champagne on arrival, excellent breakfast, wonderful spa and a good choice of eateries, from fine dining to pub grub and the Sands grill. Ease of parking. The bathroom was very poor for this standard of hotel. The bath was so deep that it was really difficult to climb in and out to have a shower, and it wasn't very powerful.
