The food service hotel is excellent Our favourite hotel and 3rd stay we definitely will be going back There was no lobster crab etc for tge sea food platter I ordered I was disappointed about that The plug was broken in our bathroom too

Staff very helpful on arrival and all through the rest of our stay Dining room on second day breakfast was good but we had to ask for our tea and toast twice each time it was a different person, we felt they were maybe new as there was no co-ordination. We did not make a complaint as it was only an observation.

Wonderful hotel, fantastic staff, magnificent setting and great facilities. Our stay was further enhanced as we received a free upgrade to an amazing Fairway Suite which a brilliant treat. Also several members of staff recognised us from a previous visit in March and made us feel very welcome and special.

Stayed here many times always impressed with the staffs organisation politeness and attention to detail, really luxurious! Not cheap but worth it for the outstanding level of service and standard of the hotel for example luxurious bedding. Stunning location only 10 min walk from the centre of town.

From the moment we arrived at reception the staff were excellent.There was always someone to help with any situationi.ie finding our way around car keys etc. The restaurant staff from breakfast in the morning to the evening meal were helpful friendly and polite. The menus were mouthwatering so many choices for all tastes,most of the fish, meat and game locally sourced.The fine dining dishes were so beautifully presented and almost looked too good to eat,but we did with pleasure! It was my husbands birthday and the pastry chef kindly sent us a cake to mark the occasion. I also must make a mention of the beautiful flower arrangements all around the hotel from the foyer and reception area to the small arrangents on trays and tables. Our thanks to all.

The staff from the moment we arrived at the front door to the hotel to our departure. Dining at Sands was a great experience and my wife loved the "tablet". The small bathroom.

We loved everything about our stay at the hotel. The staff's service was superb and our room overlooking the Old Course was more than we expected. We had dinner one evening in the hotel and the food and service were wonderful. We cannot recommend a stay here highly enough. Can't really comment here because my husband and I loved everything.

This was a surprise for my wife's 50th birthday and she only knew when we arrived at the entrance. Having Host David available was a godsend as he made us very welcome and put us at ease. He gave us a tour of the facilities and organised the champagne etc I asked for a small bottle of orange juice so my wife could add it to her champagne. We received a large jug or orange juice and were charged £12.50 for it. We were a bit dissappointed about that.

Special birthday gift for my husband from his children. He is a golfer and has been to St Andrews a few times, but always wanted to stay at the hotel. Honestly can say we liked everything from our arrival at the door to leaving.
