The fantastic old building. Being greeted by a log fire in Reception. The friendliest hotel staff we have ever encountered who went out of their way to make sure we had every comfort, nothing was to much trouble. Food was of a high quality and service was excellent. The hotel is a very old building so the most inconvenient thing was no lifts so all luggage had to be carried up stairs but if you stay in an old building it is something you have to be aware of.

The gardens were beautiful, viewed the cottage alongside which was spacious and quite nice. Loved the huge towels. Friendly staff. The rooms were very small and the photographs were slightly misleading. The bath was very very small. There was only two tea bags on offer in the room where there were two people sharing.

The meal in restaurant was expensive, due to the poor quality of meat that was cooked for us.

The Old Court Hotel is an excellent, historic, friendly family run business. The rooms in the old house were historically charming complete with creaky floorboards and wonky wooden beams (whilst we were not lacking any facilities, don't expect modern chic conveniences). The range of meals including breakfast, a la carte dining (in the impressive dinning hall), and bar food was excellent and at reasonable prices. Good range of draft beer and wines in the cozy bar. All the staff were very hospitable. There are three further pubs within easy walking distance in Symonds Yat. Well recommended for a weekend break.

We stayed for 2 nights and found this a warm and welcoming hotel full of character. The food was excellent, as was the accommodation. The staff were pleasant and attentive, and all in all, a very nice week end that I would highly recommend.

Liked the' olde worlde' building. Room smallish, but comfortable enough for three nights. Food good. Excellent situation for walking by the river and near to Yat Rock, from where can see spectacular scenery. Only one slight criticism. We were asked to think of the environment and, rather than ask for clean towels each day, to hang our towels to dry & use them again, which we were quite prepared to do, but there was nowhere to hang two large bath towels at the same time. We hung one over the shower rail.

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We stayed with our 3 border collies and felt that they were all welcome too. The room was spotless, and beds comfy. The food was excellent and if you didn't fancy what was on the breakfast menu, the staff would make anything you wanted. I couldn't fault anything at all about our stay, I would reccomend this hotel to anyone, particularly if looking for dog friendly accomodation. We will be back. Couldn't fault the hotel in any way.

The staff were wonderful - very friendly and helpful, especially towards one of our party who was unwell for part of our stay. The food was excellent - we enjoyed our breakfasts, bar meals on two occasions and the special Valentine's meal was delicious and brilliant value for money. We were two couples and all agreed that bathrooms could really do with updating - maybe that is work in progress. If that was done we would recommend to other travellers.

The staff were wonderful, very helpful and polite. The room was a little faded with peeling wallpaper, albeit clean. it was a shame that there was no fire in the small lounge .... there was a roaring fire in the hallway, but nowhere warm for guests to sit outside of their room other than the bar. the food was generally good; however we recieved a refund for one meal which was just not pleasant. Overall, great staff, great location, but would have appreciated somewhere warm to sit and read. the conservatory is being refurbed so hopefully will be vailable before too long
