We loved our room in the older part of the building with exposed beams. The location and view were terrific. Although we visited in mid winter we would happily return in mid summer to make use of the large gardens. Sitting in the old bar after dinner for a night cap was wonderful. Breakfast was lovely too.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Never stayed in such a dog friendly hotel before, he was made a fuss of by everyone. Lovely building and grounds.
beautiful tranquil rural location. warm, cosy and inviting old period building. excellentcquality fresh food prepared to order. breakfast for a hotel is of exceptional quality clmpared to the usual 4 star busjness chain hotels I normally stay in when travelling on work.
bathroom needs a bit of updating with wall paper peeling away in places.
My family spent Christmas 2014 here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were well looked after by the staff and the food is amazing. The rooms are warm, comfortable and the medieval theme of the hotel is idyllic for celebrating Christmas. The wood burning stoves added to the festive ambience. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back in the summer to appreciate the lovely hotel gardens amidst the beautiful Wye Valley.
Had a very good night, stayed in a suite in the coach house, food was very good and plenty of it.
The food. The breakfast. The restaurant in the hotel. Best fish and chips ever in the hotelpub. The garden. The old house and barns where our previous (2007) and present room was. Beautiful old building/s with masses of character. First thing we always do in England is have fish and chips. What a bliss in the Old Court Hotel.
The shower was a bit disappointing, not hot, giving drops of it, and it was impossible to have a bath in the bathtub. One was stuck with the poor shower.
Location and staff were friendly
"Suite" = tired looking self catering accommodation. Also told on Friday night to book a table for Sat. evening at breakfast on Sat morning, to be told dining room was full. Surely live in guests should have first preference? This was supposed to be our wedding anniversary special meal and landed up having a bar meal instead - very disappointing.
Food was exceptional and really cosy. Would visit just for a meal
Friendly service, comfortable hotel a feeling that nothing was too much trouble. Stayed on a 3 nights for two special good value for money. Love the area great walks near the river and other interesting landmarks.
Not a lot to dislike.
We spent our wedding night here 25 years ago and the hotel was just as we remembered it. We both love 16th century hotels. We had a wonderful welcome and the food was perfect. The room was olde worlde and on character with the building. Thank you for a wonderful and emotional stay. Please visit this hotel you will love it
The toilet in the room needed an extract fan. This was the only fault we found
Free wood for burner
Staff and food.
Romms a bit 'tired'
Loved the balcony and the room. Staff were excellent.
Food was expensive, the tele didn't work!
It is a picturesque hotel with a lovely atmosphere. We had an excellent meal in the beautiful dining room and it is top class with value for money. We will definitely make a return visit.
I am dairy free and they catered perfectly for my needs. Quite often I have trouble finding something to suit me but they were fantastic
everything from the to quality of food,to the friendliness of the staff,to the wounderfull surroundings.
not a hugh problem but a personel view, as been a large size couple a bit larger a bed would have been more comfortable.simply no dislikes at all
Good restaurant ambience and excellent food. The bar was friendly with atmosphere plus good beer. Excellent breakfast menu and location. Very friendly and helpfull staff.
Some noise from the bar, which is below Quillam room
The bed was extremely comfy, staff were knowledgeable and very friendly, room was clean, tidy and very quiet, one of the best nites sleep I've had
Ambience, location, wonderful old building
Got very busy in the evenings but that's good for business!
The friendliness of the staff was excellent. The four poster room was absolutely lovely. We had a fantastic two days!
The food ,especially the breakfasts were excellent. The staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Bathroom was a bit quirky! The traditional over bath shower under the eaves provided little room especially as we are both tall people. The air vent to the out-side was very noisy.
Staff very helpful. Food great. A lovely hotel and experience.
Very friendly and helpful staff. A good menu with superb steaks. Good bar with cask ales.
There was nothing to dislike
