accomodation, food and staff was very good indeed
Beautiful location Character of hotel. Very atmospheric. 4 poster bed. Food was outstanding and good value. Staff very friendly.
the staff were brilliant the food to was brilliant the hotel & gardens were great 11 out of 10
Comfortable room with a small balcony overlooking garden. Very comfortable bed. Staff all very friendly and helpful. We would definitely like to return some time. Great few days at a good price.
We would have liked ssome more traditional food on the menu - as 'golden oldies' we enjoy 'meat and two veg' dishes. The food we did have was good, apart from the duck meal in the Tudor Restaurant - first time I've had 'tough' duck meat! Vegs were good though, and puds nice. Also the Fish Pie was very tasty.
easy for other places to visit in surrounding area pleasant walks and super boat trip on the wye nice pubs super foot
Location as expected, the grounds were well maintained and had a good mixture for colour, peaceful setting.average price for refreshments..friendly and helpful staff
A bit mean with the breakfast...full english breakfast?....one rasher of beacon,one sausage.one egg.3 mushrooms,one blackpudding,and half a tomato...
The beautiful gardens and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Staff ABC Above & beyond the call of duty , even collecting us from a nearby Town at 0100hrs when the taxi company had let us down! Excellent food too
The breakfast were generous and tasty. Plenty of seating in the pub area Lovely to get upgraded to a suite!
Some of the food was not up to the price tag
The staff at The Old Court were more than helpful through our entire stay. They offered to prepare some food for our arrival when we told them we were stuck in traffic and would not arrive until 11. They arranged taxis for us, and they had a detailed knowledge of the local area and activities and sites. The food was also very good- we had a meal from the a-la-carte menu and it was fantastic.
The water pressure in the building could be better, but I except that getting infrastructure in very old buildings can be challenging! It wouldn't put me off returning.
Hotel staff ( Andrew) very understanding, when our grandson, (5) dropped off at hotel, for us to look after! ( emergency), all the staff very helpfully. THANK U ALL. Alan + Sandra + Brandon (5) x
Too many stairs + walk to bedroom. ? ( Artist room)
The staff were so helpful and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. The building itself is beautiful, with a strong tudor style. The location is perfect, and there are many lovely walking possibilites in the area. Food was amazing, and well priced for the quality. I would definitly reccomend this to anyone looking for a quiet get-away near the Wye Valley.
Lovely rambling hotel, where all of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Food in the bar and restaurant is very good. Location near to Symonds Yat is perfect.
Nothing really. We had the standard room which is small but that was made clear when we booked. As it says on the hotel web site if all you want is a bed to explore the area then the standard room is fine.
The room was very good .
Did not sleep for two nights due to a very load bagging which know one could find.Food was not to bad.
Free wifi Good breakfast choice and cooked fresh
Noisy rooms Poor quality and unmatched furniture Toilet like a caravan toilet Bath and sink in a separate room to toilet Shower in next room very noisy Room wasn't cleaned daily, only beds made. Kettle didn't work In serious need of TLC throughout
Building, Friendly owners, Breakfast, Bed, Location, almost everything
WiFI was a bit low powered in the room but that is true for most B&B's. (Adding a wifi extender would not cost much and in an old building like this would be a bonus for travellers).
Staff, food and garden were all excellent.
Pillows were either too hard or too soft.
This was the third time we have stayed at the Old Court whilst visiting family in the area. This hotel offers very good value for money, particularly when taking advantage of their three nights for the price for two offer. The staff are friendly, the room clean, and the breakfast is excellent, with a number of choices on the menu, and you can help yourself to cereals, toast , fruit and fruit juice. The properly itself has a nice bar and function room, plenty of tables outside for enjoying a drink in fine weather, and a small snug area, with comfy sofa's to chill out or read a newspaper. We will return again!!
There wasn't much not to like really, but we noticed that at breakfast the toaster didn't toast the bread properly, and the ceiling fan in the room was noisy. Other than those points, hard to find fault really
We got a good deal price wise, location was good for seeing the area.
There was some sort of extraction fan going on & off 24 hours a day just outside our room. Even with the window closed it still disturbed our sleep. Bathroom was shabby even though we were in the "new" wing.
Relaxed atmosphere. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Large room with patio doors to balcony.
Shower was poor.
A building steeped in history situated in really scenic location offering comfortable accommodation & good food plus excellent service from all staff . The ' three for two ' offer was great value especially for a summer weekend in high season.
Old court hotel was very nice me and my partner had a lovely time.Lovely 15the century building.
Food is well over priced and breakfast isn't very good at all my boiled eggs was raw and didn't like having to queue to do my own toast.
Location was excellent. The gardens were lovely.
On arrival we were greeted by a gentleman in a scruffy chefs jacket. His mobile phone rang in the middle of check in and he proceeded to answer it.
Perfect location, good breakfast.
Very cramped bathroom, very strange sauce over lamb, gunk sprang to mind.
Good Food, good real ale, very friendly and efficient staff, lovely and quiet location , gardens a credit to the Gardner
