Just what we needed to sleep over after a local wedding. the floor in the bathroom was not very clean and the carpets were a bit shabby, but on the whole the room was spacious, well furnished and nice and quiet

The shower in the room was very small. Even an average size man would find it uncomfortable to use.

Comfortable room, quiet and excellent parking. Easy to find and good location. Buffet breakfast included in room price was awful and inedible. Kept warm food under very hot halogen lights everthing overcooked and dried out. We ate at 07:30 and this was the middle of the breakfast service and the hotel was busy due to the Agricultural show in Newark. The evening meal was average at best, but fairly priced and plentiful, but not gourmet.

The staff were great and the room was comfortable. The location was very convenient. There were a couple of small problems that in a newly refurbished hotel should not have been issues; it was as if the room were unfinished: - there was no mirror near a power point - difficult to do my hair - also there was no shaver point in the bathroom for my husband to use - the TV was tiny which beacuse the rom was so large it was impossible to watch whilst lying on the bed - there was a strange electrical point over the bed that was blanked off but still had a hole in the wall visible around it.

On arrival the confirmed booking via booking.com had not been received by the hotel!!! Despite this they were able to provide a room - showing good flexibility Staff were friendly and the accommodation in one of the new modern annexes was well appointed and comfortable. Food was good and reasonably priced. Only downside was the price of bar drinks which were very expensive even by hotel standards.

The bed was comfortable The name Olde Barn is very misleading. Just another no personality large hotel. Old fashioned (out of date) environment. Too many old food smells on ground floor. Unfriendly reception. No windows in bedroom - only skylights. We won't be staying here again.

Good area just off a1 , small gym , nice pool but sauna under repair but didnt see any work done!Nice bar and meal. Had one sleepless night as first half of the night the staff were talking outside my window as this was their smoking area! The second half of night was the noise of the air con unit , next day they changed rooms but gave no assistance in change!

Breakfast was worth the extra; rooms very modern and inviting and pool area very relaxing Checking in was quite a frustrating process as they would not allow us to use the pool whilst we awaited 2pm check until we pushed the point and they made us hang around for 40min. The check out girl was very polite and friendly which did redeem the miserable checking in lady.

It has a relaxed atmosphere. The bar area is comfortable. Good car parking. The reception and some other areas of the hotel are tired looking. The room was noisey .. I think it was over the swimming pool generator?

The staff were helpfull (although it seemed to be the first day for many of them). The gym facilities were small and busy, but good. The bar was horribly overpriced and the restaurant was even more so. The evening meal was very average and at £50 for 2 excluding drinks was very disappointing. I suspect nothing was freshly cooked. Sadly even the wine was poor.
