The complete package was perfect thanks
The Olde House is so welcoming and everyone is so kind and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Julie and Gerrard were lovely. Room was large, comfy and warm. Bed was very big and comfortable. Breakfast menu was plentyful and freshly cooked to order. Christmas dinner was the best I have in many a year. Cooked to a perfection. Great staff, Terri,Emma, Callum. All staff are a credit and so friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back in the new year. Xx
Nothing to dislike
Very clean, Good shower, breakfast excellent
Good facilities, good food and service. Really comfortable bed.
Value for money, room was lovely and food was very nice.
Just out of town. So a little remote but accommodation and food very good. We were very happy with our stay.
Breakfast was just ok.
Rock hard bed & pillows. Paper thin walls. Musty smell in bedroom. Wet bathroom floor after shower. Property in need of major refurbishment to reflect prices charged. We have stayed in far better b& bs for half of the price. Totally disappointing and would not recommend & would never stay again & would think twice about staying in a marathons inn if that's all they have to offer!!
Tea wasnt strong enough for me
Staff were very helpful resolving an issue of a cold room, when the central heating failed.
Managerial staff and regular customers unnecessarily parking in the allocated car spaces for blue badge holders, even with a half empty car park.
size of the room, asked for a quiet room and got one
wi-fi very poor
Excellent breakfast and evening meal Cleanliness Quietness Everything in one place - parking, sleeping, drinking and eating Staff marvelous Location
Pillows were too hard
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable room. Lovely food and reasonable prices at the bar Good location for Chesterfield theatres.
Nothing - all good
Location, comfort, friendliness of staff, food
Spent a very comfortable 2 nights here. Lots of choice for breakfast, and we also had evening meals both nights, which were excellent. My husband enjoyed the real ales, and I the cocktails, which weren't too expensive. Parking good.
Black damp stains under the window
The location of the hotel; the room was comfortable; the breakfast was good; close to a Catholic Church as the next day was Sunday.
The heating was not switched on (31/10/14-01/11/14)
Staff excellent Breakfast very good Clean rooms
Tea in a thermos for all of dining room would have liked a pot on each table
The room was very comfy and the breakfast was delicious. I have never seen such a powerful shower and a fast run of water!
On arrival we were told that we need to pay and extra £10 per night for my 7 year old daughter. I put in my booking that the room was for 2 adults and a 7 year old, and I arrived to be told this wasn't passed on. Luckily there was an available sofa bed which was promptly made up, but I had to pay extra and the staff had to do this when they were very busy. It made the start to our break a bit disappointing.
It was our first time in England and we wanted to see the country and the Old House was just perfect for us! Great place, really clean and great services.
The roofers beginning work at 8am!
Wifi was weak in the sleeping areas
Friendly Staff and reasonably priced meals
Nothing it was ideal for a short stay
