Olde Moat House  

Having read other reviews about The Old Moat house we were not disapointed. The hosts were pleasant and helpful but not over intrusive, the breakfast was excellent and the room we stayed in was very comfortable and in keeping with the age of the building. A peaceful and enjoyable stay with two pubs nearby and plenty of places to visit. We could not find anything at fault and look forward to returning in the future.

A very high standard for a b and b. There is nothing I can fault.The owners Robert and Dianna were very welcoming and pleasant and helpfulo. Our four poster room was cosy and romantic. Breakfast were extremely good with homemade bread and preserves and a hearty cooked meal. All very relaxing.

We loved that both the owners were so welcoming and helpful, they were always available to answer any queries and they even booked tables for us for our dinner meals. We loved the homely environment, especially that at breakfast we all sat together and were offered lots of things to eat and then the owners came and shared a cup of coffee with us after we had eaten. We went for our honeymoon and it was a perfect place to relax and be together after the stress of the wedding! It is a nicely hidden b&b which means that you dont get lots of people wandering around near it, we were able to enjoy the grounds in peace and quiet. The location is good to get into places like Rye, Battle and Hastings which was the main attraction for going there. All in all we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend to couples

A delightful "olde-worlde" house set in large grounds, surrounded by a moat. The suite in which we stayed was spacious and comfortable with a huge bed, large shower, fridge, and sumptuous furnishings, but with a warm and "homely" feel. Breakfast was served, by the owners, in a magnificent dining room. There was a splendid variety of fruits, cereals, home-made scones and jams from fruit grown in the garden, together with individually cooked breakfasts. The owners had paid every attention to detail in welcoming guests into their lovely home, and we were sorry that we were only spending one night there. It's a real"gem."

Van bij de hartelijke ontvangst valt al op dat de gastheer/vrouw hun ziel hebben gelegd in dit huis.tot in het kleinste detail verzorgd,en veelal de duurste materialen,hier is letterlijk kosten noch moeite gespaard geweest.net in die periode door griep geplaagd moest ik met mijn vriendin in de namiddag noodgedwongen rust nemen,maar geen van ons beiden,en we zijn dit echt niet gewend,vond het erg om in dit bed overdag nog te rusten.zalig gewoon.en het ontbijt in een gezellig en mooi kader,heerlijk vers met alles erop en eraan.was het zo maar overal...elke organisatie geeft hun terecht de maximum quotering.wij ook.

Met mijn 1.95 m is het plafond van de suite wel erg laag,maar het is ook een oud huis. Hoewel de kamer an sich zeker de moeite is,heerlijk van ligging voor de eerste zonnestralen in de ochtend,goeie douche,en plaats te over,moet je overwegen of je gebukt wil lopen,en af en toe je hoofd wil stoten aan een balk. Tot 1.85 denk ik is het prima,me dunkt.

Olde Moat House is gewoon een perfecte plek om te overnachten en te ontspannen. Wij komen er al meerdere jaren.

The owners were absolutely wonderful. We showed up a day late by mistake and they took care of us even though it was impacting their own holiday. The place is spotless and very high quality in every respect. It was the epitome of a B and B of the highest quality.

A lovely, characterful property in large grounds. The hosts were very welcoming and provided everything you could possibly need (fridge and fresh milk in the room were particularly welcome.) The huge, full English breakfast was excellent, laid out beautifully in a triple aspect dining room with views over the garden.
