Great Would stay there again Staff is top class - pay them well!
Their "Macdonald signature breakfast" is ordinary and not deserving of the Macdonald namesake, and the bacon could be much better if it's crispy.
The location was very good and the view from our room was amazing. We looked right out on to the lake.
The hotel it's self was of an Ok standard but the room felt dated like it needed refurbing. The worst thing about our stay was the level of customer service. Generally this was quite poor and It felt like the staff didn't want to put in any additional effort to assist us. We also witnessed the bar staff having a melt down and all arguing amongst themselves. This lasted for around 30 mins. I understand that these things happen but we paid what I consider to be a lot of money to stay at this hotel and it is not the level is customer service I expect. As I said the customer service over all was poor and nowhere near the standard I would expect. I stayed at a premier In the week before this trip and the customer service was better there and there is obviously a massive price difference. The only thing that saved this trip was the amazing views, without this I would have come away very unhappy!
The location was good and everything was very pleasant
I had one room service issue that kind of annoyed me, but otherwise all was good.
Friendliness of the staff, from arrival to departure, was superb, coupled with the overall ambience of the hotel
Nothing to dislike
Bar and food prices rather inflated compared to other venues in the area
Liked everything about this place ,location , room , staff & food .
Staff where excellent. The position of the hotel non the lake is fantastic.
The room. We where frond floor tucked in facing a path to the lake to open for visitors to see in. Room not as big as we thought it would be. Not the best we have stayed in but not the worst either.
Very nice upperclass hotel
We were woken before 7am by the workers colecting the used glass bottles outside in the truck! Which made a lot of noise!
Such a relaxing hotel! Amazing spa! Beautiful view of the lake!
Wifi wouldn't stay connected! Had to fill in the online f
Location and swming pool
There were to many Spiders in the room
Helpfulness of staff especially Mathew in the Lounge bar - he new his beers!
WiFi was a problem. Not a good signal.
Staff were very very helpful & Friendly (Specially Matt, Shannon, Powel, Jesus...) Location is superb & convenient. Spa & facilities are good. Food is delicious.
Hotel is of age 245 years old structure, needs refurb, rooms I got did not have proper Lake view (Room 103 - is excellent).
Everything.Staff were very obliging and helpful ,decor gorgeous, views lovely.
The first room we given backed onto a Hotel from which a lot of noise came. After we complained we were moved by the staff to a quieter room .
We had a slight problem with the breakfast, which was resolved, quickly efficiently and with minimum fuss, just the way I would have dealt with it!!!!
no water flow in the shower!
courteous, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful surrounding, peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, spacious, clean and comfortable room, definitely would love to go back.
Hotel was clean in a great location, close to many other hotels bars food establishments, staff friendly and we'll dressed and polite
Drinks and food very expensive, wait times long for food, toast comes cold and hard. Room view was of a SKIP with all sorts of rubbish in there, paid 248£ for 1 night to view a skip!! Room basic to say the least, stayed in cheaper hotels and got hell of a lot better Not related to the hotel but area, was a stag doo that broke out into a mass pub brawl!! In the lakes DID NOT EXPECT THAT especially in a family oriented pub with children there viewing it all and glasses being thrown all over!! Don't think I'll visit the lakes again because of that and the room view of the skip
Lounge bar was nice Good views of the lake
No Jacuzzi Expensive considering the room was tiny
No air conditioning and the room is too hot to sleep during summer Strange smell
The hotel was right in the centre of town and our room had a magnificent view of Lake Windermere.
The room was unbearable hot which made it very difficult to sleep so we didn't get a good rest. Would benefit from air conditioning.
Location was good - right on the lake and valet parking was a good feature
No air conditioning in rooms (too hot in summer - this is a basic requirement for a 4 Star). Breakfast was so so. The leisure facilities specially the pool was too busy all the time I think because locals and other hotel residents elsewhere can use it - it is simply not big enough for that - so we did not enjoy using it.
Room. Skylight window only
I would not have chosen better! Location is perfect, on the shores of the beautiful Windermere, wonderful views, quiet, but still handy for all boat excursions and shops and restaurants.
Location was superb. Weather was great. Enjoyed view from bedroom.
Long wait in queues on some mornings to get into breakfast. Very hot in rooms as we were there on hot days and no air conditioning. Long wait for food and drinks in bar area.
