    The location and staff were good and helpful, and the location was excellent.I particularly liked the fridge in the room, which was very useful. The staff were very helpful helping at a reception for our 50th wedding anniversary

    To pay for parking ones car which it didn't point out on booking the room.

    Very good breakfast Car valet service worked well Good position on lakeside Spa facilities good but pool too shallow.

    Room laid out for disabled (not requested) therefore very low wash basin and sliding bathroom doors which slid very noisily. Similar noises throughout the night from nearby rooms. Refuse collection early in the morning outside window - noisy! Broken shower and flickering lights. Several nights stay but door entry cards failed after 24h. Expensive restaurant!

    the location is good, it is just beside the lake. windermere is beautiful. the room is worth the money, clear and comfortable. the staff is also nice.

    i don't like use the wifi in room, it is the cloud wifi with bad signal. u have to log in every time when u wanna use it. and the restaurant in hotel is not so good as i thought, the prize is quite high and the quality of the food is very common. u could get better food with lower prize in the town.

    Great Would stay there again Staff is top class - pay them well!

    Their "Macdonald signature breakfast" is ordinary and not deserving of the Macdonald namesake, and the bacon could be much better if it's crispy.

    The location was very good and the view from our room was amazing. We looked right out on to the lake.

    The hotel it's self was of an Ok standard but the room felt dated like it needed refurbing. The worst thing about our stay was the level of customer service. Generally this was quite poor and It felt like the staff didn't want to put in any additional effort to assist us. We also witnessed the bar staff having a melt down and all arguing amongst themselves. This lasted for around 30 mins. I understand that these things happen but we paid what I consider to be a lot of money to stay at this hotel and it is not the level is customer service I expect. As I said the customer service over all was poor and nowhere near the standard I would expect. I stayed at a premier In the week before this trip and the customer service was better there and there is obviously a massive price difference. The only thing that saved this trip was the amazing views, without this I would have come away very unhappy!

    Great location for getting about, lots of activities to get involved with in the hotel as well as the local the local area. The staff was very polite and helpful specially Mark, thanks for being you.

    Didn't like 0620 fire alarm and the parking charge for your stay at the hotel is far over the top.

    1) good location- right next to the windermere pier. 2) The restaurant(breakfast staff) were extremely caring. We were well taken care of. 3) The bartender in the main sitting area with the piano (don't remember his name) was extremely hospitable. He made the best Irish coffee I have recently had. 4) Housekeeping staff were more caring and hospitable.

    1) The reception staff - behaviour was cold & impersonal & uncaring (it was warmer outside the hotel. 2) I had booked & charged for a two executive double room, but I got a standard small rooms instead. Accordingly I should have been charged for the standard room! But this was NOT the case! 3) When I checked in the first time I should have been told that I was been sent to a standard room. When I saw the room I realised it didn't match photos of what I had seen on booking.com site. The next day when I asked them this they saw fit to berate me by telling me I had asked for view so they gave me a standard room. I told them I had paid for deluxe rooms and requested for deluxe room with view. They said we dont have, sorry! My wife told me let the matter lie and dont fight, so I left it with bad taste that I was ripped off! 4) The telephone in my son's room was not working, I lodged a complaint with the reception for 3 consecutive nights that I had stayed there and not once did anyone come to repair. The reception desk gave me the same answer each time that this is technical job and will talk to the manager. I had to physically go to my children's room every time I had to contact them! 5) Breakfast- we stayed(28th July-31st July) and we had to wait for upto 30mins to 45mins to get a table. I noticed that the restaurant had plenty of empty space but the number of tables were very limited and therefore we had to wait everytime! 6) Very old furnishings of the hotel(for the amount being charged the hotel should be in better condition). 7) Our room was not cleaned the night before we were leaving. We saw empty water bottle/wine bottle not taken away and bed not done up. It was like they new we were checking out the next day so why bother! 8) the breakfast menu is the same thru out, so 3 days of the same...the menu should have something different everyday.

    I booked an exec suite and was put into what to me seemed an exec double.This room looked out onto a flat roof with no view.I requested another room and was changed to one with a balcony.This again appeared to be an double room and not a suite. When I checked out I complained and was informed that both these rooms were exec suites. We have stayed in this hotel in a suite in the past so we do know what the suites are like. We were really disappointed with the hotel on this occasion.

    Staff where excellent. The position of the hotel non the lake is fantastic.

    The room. We where frond floor tucked in facing a path to the lake to open for visitors to see in. Room not as big as we thought it would be. Not the best we have stayed in but not the worst either.

    Location

    Standard of accomodation basic and doesn't warrant 4 stars , stayed in better accomodation and less expensive , very dissapointed , would give 3 stars maximum . The cost of the accomodation should also include parking which was at extra cost and belonged to the hotel , the decor needs updating and areas of the hotel and room were shabby and would have expected this from a cheaper chain of accomodation

    Very nice upperclass hotel

    We were woken before 7am by the workers colecting the used glass bottles outside in the truck! Which made a lot of noise!

    Helpfulness of staff especially Mathew in the Lounge bar - he new his beers!

    WiFi was a problem. Not a good signal.

    Staff were very very helpful & Friendly (Specially Matt, Shannon, Powel, Jesus...) Location is superb & convenient. Spa & facilities are good. Food is delicious.

    Hotel is of age 245 years old structure, needs refurb, rooms I got did not have proper Lake view (Room 103 - is excellent).
