We liked the setting of the hotel, it was tastefully decorated and wellcoming.The rooms were of a good size and very comfortable. As a real ale fan l was very disappointed by the fact that there was only one ale and this ran out early on.May l suggest a good supply of Adnams bitter and/or Marstons Burton bitter. Not every one is a lager drinker. |

We have stayed some ten visits now and can not beleive how low the service anr standards have dropped. However the restaurant and staff were good. The attitude of the receptionist who was completely unsupervised and did not know what she was doing. The night reseptionist went completely missing for an hour leaving his emergency phone on the counter. The pool area was dirty and unclean. |

It was very comfortable and the facilities in the room were very good. The staff were friendly and helpful and the pool and fitness facilities were excellent. |

Quiet setting, good parking, lovely village, very comfortable room Really ready for a refurbishment. Very worn. Wall in restaurant had dried food and drink splattered on it, right by the top of my table (and wall paper plus wood trim broken away from the wall), seats in bar and restaurant grubby |

The reception girl was friendly and helpful even thought she obviously had a terrible cold and clearly should have not have been at work, especially working in a public facing role! The hotel was positioned conveniently for my reason for staying and there was plenty of parking The hotel had an old feel about it, not a nice old feel but a desperate for refurbishment old feel. The first room we were allocated had a leaking bath tap that had left stains in the bath, the toilet did not flush away correctly, after 3 attempts I gave up!The whole bathroom had a grotty feel about it, the bedroom was not much better. |

It was very relaxing and the room was perfect As a guest it is difficult to sit in the bar area for a pre dinner drink when there is a wedding on, and being a BHWeekend it was very busy with various functions.Having stayed at the hotel many times It hasn't stopped us coming ,but feel it would add to the relaxing aspect If there was some way round this?. |

Nothing at all to be honest. I am in the middle of making a formal complaint to the hotel. where do i start?, firstly, the room for one person, had a what seemed a child sized single bed in what could only be described as a broom cupboard, filth everywhere.. and to top it all, not a single nights sleep as my room backed on to what could only be described as a 'drainage' mechanism, that went off every 10 mins.. it was awful. |

Staff very helpful Having to move rooms as our first executive suite only had one sink and no settee. Hoever the second suite had two sinks but still no settee. Would have preferred the Windsor Suite that we have stayed in before. |

relaxing in this lovely old hotel, in a little village setting and enjoying their delicious food, especially breakfast. a local bus does return trips to big shopping centre, about 15 mins from village. |

The location is very peaceful but convenient for Stanstead Airport and the other local amenities. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in the rate and was freshly cooked and served with a smile. This property really does need some TLC. Carpets/paintwork/furnishings are all very tired and the bathrooms are really showing their age. Decor looks and feels like something from the seventies and the dining room/bar area makes nothing of the magnificent building in which it is located. |

We had Valentine`s dinner and food was excelent, very tasty, well served. We were dissapointed about gym and changing rooms for leisure centre. They were in very poor condition for a such great hotel. |
