A family-owned hotel located in the leafy suburbs of Kirkcaldy, ideally located as a base for guests visiting St Andrews (17 miles), or Fife. The hotel is a 40 minute drive from Edinburgh.
Score from 115 reviews Good
ambience of hotel was excellent. staff were exeptional.
had a slightly tired feel to the infrastructure
Dining room views, comfortable bed and welcoming reception staff.
Poor breakfast service - slow and incomplete. I had to ask on two occasions for missing basic items (butter/marmalade etc).
Excellent and well trained staff for which nothing was a trouble. Food also was first rate.
Some bedrooms slightly tired however complete refurbishing of rooms started day we left.
General ambience was good.We have had family parties in the hotel and no complaints.
The new young receptionist should have had an older member of staff mentoring her
The staff were extremely friendly. The restaurant is perfect and the food divine. While our daughter is at university we have found our perfect hotel for the next four years and beyond.
Need some little milk cartons for a morning cup of tea
Absolutely everything about this Hotel is exceptional. The view alone is worth the stay. The food and staff are also to be praised. Would highly recommend the Old Manor. A delightful experience.
Attention to detail e.g. art on walls, flowers on table, extensive selection of teas and coffee in room. Lovely sea view, French windows onto own seating area. Friendly, helpful staff.
Lovely Bar and restaurant area with good food and great views over the Firth of Forth. Food good and staff warm and friendly. Excellent views again from our downstairs room which had a balcony, and that wonderful view again.
Decor starting to become a bit dated / faded.
Location very good and breakfast excellent.
I think Dad joined me for breakfast not good?
Brilliant sea views. Spacious room. Good food and helpful staff.Comfortable bed.
Room was a bit tired.
The hotel was clean and very well appointed. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is well situated to visit Fife
The dining room experience could be improved. Dirty plates could be cleared away quicker and waiting time between courses reduced. The pricing of some of the main courses was a bit high and portions too large.
A very relaxing atmosphere. Food excellent and in particular staff very welcoming and helpful.
Position, staff, food, beds
Lighting for bedtime reading poor
good service from staff specially in dining room the view while having your meal is first rate.Food was well cooked and presented hotel is central for visit to other areas in East fife .
no comments to make as hotel was well priced for what they set out to do
Location is nice
Room was dark and very small with a dirty, stained carpet and poor quality shower room.
Beautiful view in sea facing rooms Spacious Nice comfy four poster bed and room with period design and class Nice dining room
Awkward shower Kind of stodgy atmosphere, makes visitors who are more casual in nature feel a bit out of place at times
Location and room view was excellent and the staff was really friendly and did their best at all time.
Shower was poor, no thrust but water was hot. Food was alright but no alternative in the neighborhood.
Seaview room, walk on beach, very good dinner menu
Quality location and building. Quiet room. Great views across the Firth. Good food with Vegetarian options. Centrally located for visiting Fife's coast.
Room a little hot at night. Fresh milk provided in the room in a jug with no way of keeping it cool. Breakfast appeared to be mostly fried rather than grilled.
High tea good value views outstanding staff very helpful.
No lift no stair lift bathroom a bit dated shower with curtain awful.being disabled could only go up stairs to go to bed.
Location is second to none, ask for room number 7 the views from balcony where breath taking.an ideal hotel to take pets we took two dachshunds who where allowed to stay in the room with us and use the hotel garden to run around.the food in the restaurant was fantastic value for money and in my opinion better than award winning restaurant we've dined at over the years.a total must stay again hotel, looking forward to our next visit.
The room could do with a new carpet but that's my option.Didn't spoil my stay in anyway.
Very nice friendly, quiet hote, very comfortable
Great location for visit to St Andrews. Good local seaside walks.
Didn't get a good sleep, as the bed wasn't to comfortable.
We found the Staff very pleasant and very helpful. We had a beautiful meal in the evening which was extremely good value.
The rooms could be done with modernising and there was a lot of flies in the room, which we did report and the staff gave us a bottle of bug spray which was nice and helped.
