A charming hotel with memorable and outstanding views from the dining room. Bedrooms were comfortable, if a bit old fashioned/traditional. a good breakfast and excellent value for money. Nothing negative.

Very friendly helpful staff. Fabulous dinner in the restaurant. Dogs were welcomed. Free upgrade to rooms with balconies. The hotel had just been closed for a couple of days over Christmas (open for meals only on Christmas Day), and the heating hadn't been re- set to normal overnight guest requirements. It went off at 9pm and wasn't back on by 9am - and the outside temperature was below freezing. Our ground floor corridor, and in particular, our rooms, were very cold. The lovely receptionist provided us with a fan heater, but the main problem is that even when the radiators are on they are inefficient - tucked away at the back of the rooms, near the balcony access. The decor in the rooms and corridors could do with updating. Busy main road made access to the side-streets and beach a little hazardous for dog-walking, and no dog waste bin was provided - though it was suggested that this would be rectified shortly.

Loved the peace and quiet.beautiful location and very helpful staff..........Spotlessly clean room very comfortable large bed, views amazing and balcony perfect for relaxing........ Being charged £2.50 extra for poached eggs on toast as didn't want full English breakfast - think this needs looked at as found it a bit excessive for a lesser breakfast.....

Lovely atmosphere, happy friendly staff. Everything was clean & tidy. The tiling in our bathroom could have benefited from some attention. The bedside lamp was not of sufficient strength for use as a reading lamp.

Check in was quick and generally all staff were friendly and attentive Room was large and clean, with a balcony overlooking the coast. Bar food was good and the stay was good value The bed was pretty hard, however I was assured there were plans to renew in the short term.

All staff were very efficient and friendly. Our room had a beautiful sea view and was very comfortable. Public areas are confortable and welcoming We had a very pleasant stay. The only very minor criticism is that our starter at dinner could have had more seasoning to bring out the flavours. The menu however was very good value

We were attending a wedding at the hotel and ev erything was well organised, food was great and attention to detail was excellant We arrived to a very cold room, complained to reception who checked and said that the fuse had tripped, ok but on return to room found that only the bathroom was heated. Bedroom was very cold with only a very small heater to augment the temperature, they managed to get a plumber to come out and repair it while we were already changed and at the wedding. Surely the room had not been used very much prior to our visit, ,perhapds a check of all rooms prior to booking out would be helpful. Also there was no marmalade available at breakfast, or in the hotel. Was told there was a discount for wedding guests, this did not happen, bad pr I am afraid.

Friendliness, good breakfast, good location. Spacious parking and wonderful rear views. Highly recommended. Comment only; not to deter future guests from staying. I was in Room 21 and could hear the footsteps of the person next door-No 20 (annex part-side/front). That said they were quiet and I got a good night's sleep. I have stayed in the main body of the hotel before and the rooms there were totally soundproof.

We have stayed there many times. Although it seems a little battle-weary, its ambience, staff, food and comfort have remained excellent(even if the stair carpet has been a bit threadbare for some time!) We shall return. We love it.
