The room was clean, the location perfect and the bed was extremly comfortable I did not like getting a call from David the day before we were travelling to say that the hotel had been overbooked and unfortunately it was our room that had been overbooked. I wondered why ours? When we had booked a month previously and got it at a good rate as we not able to cancel. (Although this obviously did not work both ways) There was no apology just that he had found a alternative hotel for us at no extra cost to ourselves. When checking the laternative hotel was cheaper. My Husband called David back to express our disappointment at which time we were told ok don't worry come here and I will find you a room, still no apology!! We had booked this trip as a Birthday treat and this did spoil the trip a little. The Bathroom and Bedroom were both very small and the whole hotel looked like it needed an update.

The staff were friendly and took time to speak to us. The village location was excellent, the hotel is right next to the river. The room was tiny, I have stayed caravans with larger bedrooms. I had no bedside table or lamp and the head board on went half way across the bed. Whilst the breakfast was excellent, the selection available for dinner was predictable and a little boring - lasagna, steak and scampi etc.. but the food was hot and served well by friendly staff.

Staff are cheerful and friendly Hotel standard is poor regards facilities, food & comfort. Our room was directly above kitchen and some machinery (ice maker I think) was operating all night making quite a racket.....NO Sleep :~(.

The position is great as it is very central to the village. The decor is very tired and poorly maintained. The room we were offered was minute even though we asked for a nice room as it was our honeymoon. The hotel did not answer our phone calls when we tried to find it. The manager wasn't interested or concerned when we were very unhappy with the room and just said they were busy.He moved us and didn't bother to ask if we were ok. The waitress 'lost' our breakfast order and no one noticed until we asked after about 35 minutes.

A charming hotel in a delightful location - the best location in all of picturesque Bourton on the Water - and with attentive, helpful staff. Our room (the last available for the dates concerned) was, perhaps, a little small for a double room althougfh the ensuite bathroom was spacious, but this is a character, period building in a peerless Cotswold location and we were very pleased over all and considered ours a very good deal by comparison with what was on offer elsewhere.

With 80€ we have a very good room, best location to the water, lovely bar and excellent breakfast, that's very worth. When we checked-in during the lunch time, the staff members were very busy and we waited for several minutes, but it was OK, after all it's a very relaxing place with slow pace.

Good location - friendly staff Lack of toiletries in the bathroom - no glasses in the room - tacky plastic cups in the bathroom - no water available (which has always been provided on previous stays) - dining room had mismatched chairs lined up against one wall - looked a bit like an old people's home.

Location of hotel was excellent car parking at hotel restricted, we had enjoyable stay, staff were polite cheerful and helpful, the fine sunny weather helped make the stay more pleasurable. Ideal location hotel located on riverside with ample outside seating areas and central location in village itself, ideal base to afford sightseeing around Cotswold villages & area. The hotel ran out of ice on the one day(hot sunny day) and the chef could not provide hollandaise sauce with meal (eggs benedict breakfast) when it was listed on the menu otherwise no adverse comments to make

Location. Character of hotel, oak beams, log fire. Friendly staff. Ease of parking. Food excellent for dinner and breakfast. Particularly liked the variety of choice at breakfast, rather than just full English.

The attitude of all the staff. Our room Number7 was very tired needed upgrading, the bathroom was too small, could not fully open the shower door fully. The noise became very noisy between 16:30 and 22:30 due to some kind of extractor being switched on during those 4 hours. There was no remote for the tv.

The location is lovely. The staff were helpful. The bedroom was very small. It would have been nice to have a bottle of water in the room. There was very little space to put clothes although there was quite a lot of 'hanging' room.
