On the banks of the Caledonian Canal and with views of Ben Nevis, Tigh-a-Ghlinne is a 15-minute drive from Fort William. The property offers bed and breakfast accommodation with free Wi-Fi.

A warm welcome on arrival, a nice lounge where guests mixed and spoke to each other. Good food and a choice of good local bottled beers. Would stay here again.
A beautiful, comfortable and welcoming hotel. I spent just one night there passing through on business but would happily return with my family. Room was comfortable, views superb and food was lovely.
Not really very much I didn't like. The menu was slightly limited and pricey but what was on offer was perfect. Breakfast was only served from 0800 in the restaurant, although earlier in your room if required.
Comfortable bed and tasty breakfast
The breakfast was lacking in portion size and the evening meals were also quite costly. Wasn't informed that you needed to turn on a switch to make the shower hot so I ended up having a cold shower, staff were very keen to get you to spend money in the restaurant and not so welcoming
Personal attention from proprietor. Warmth & comfort.Beautiful situation.
Evening menu could have been slightly more extensive even if it included a meal of the day change each day.
Situated quietly amongst the tall pine trees, and next to a gently flowing stream, The Old Pines restaurant/hotel, and its free range hens, blend in beautifully. Ken & Imogen were perfect hosts, and the meals were delicious! We had a room at the front of the hotel, which had stunning views - looking out to the majestic mountains in the distance. The ambience of The Old Pines was one of fresh tranquillity, which leant itself to a good night's sleep and a sense of being refreshed and ready for the next stage of our journey home.
Great place with friendly staff. Dinner was really good. Will definitely book again.
The welcome was relaxed and after quite a long drive we were made to feel at home. The meals were delicious and professionally presented in a comfortable dining room. We had dinner each night of our stay, not something we usually do. People couldn't have been more helpful and efficient. I would highly recommend The Old Pines and would make return visit.
Views over Ben Nevis Great service Fantastic food Quiet hotel
Old Pines looks a simple, environmental, wooden hotel but the standards of food, service and beds, showers etc are equal to a 5 star hotel.
Everything perfect, what more can be said .
Fantastic location, with lovely views and friendly efficient staff.
The picturesque location, the friendly and supportive staff, comfortable rooms and wonderful food.
noise from the next room
EVERYTHING WAS FAB. THE STAFF / ROOMS / RESTAURANT BUT THE EVER CHANGING VIEWS FROM THE DINING ROOM WERE THE BEST. Many thanks to you all. Simon and Linsey
Home-made and home cooked meals, exceptionally friendly welcome, location for hill walking, great views.
A few ants on my sheets. Not a major problem for me, but others might be more squeamish. I have stayed here before and this was very much a one-off!
View Chickens, Geese on site Staff Quality of food Rooms are brill!! The ambience was very nice.
Leaving, but will be back?
Lovely views and a feeling of luxury, but at affordable prices. Also very attentive and friendly staff. Also the meals were of an excellent quality-very relaxing.Very close to the mountains that were were trekking Munro's!
No criticisms to be honest!
We really liked the hotel, just as well we had GPS or would probably not have found this lovely spot. We drive past frequently and had no idea where it was. Lovely place to stay. Very friendly and lovely breakfast.
We stayed in a few hotels as we headed down south, all good and booked via booking.com. This was the most expensive place to stay. We will stay again however as it is the height of the season for Scotland.
Easiest way to sum up Old Pines hotel is warm, friendly: you feel like you have snuggled into a cozy blanket, the whole building seems to wrap itself round you and the staff are friendly.
having to leave
A quiet and relaxing place, wonderful to recharge. We had a very good dinner at the restaurant.
Enjoyed a fantastic stay here! This hotel is in a wonderful, peaceful setting. Very comfortable and relaxing with stunning views (even though it was raining!) Friendly staff and excellent food. Will definitely return! Highly recommend.
