Accommodation looked good
Bed were far too hard Daughter had a camp bed which was well used dined in the middle and cramped the room. Didn't like the sausages for breakfast.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff; very comfortable environment; excellent food.
Grounds, bedroom, quiet
We like the position and comfortable surroundings.
The staff could be more interested in you.they may have seen many many people staying but it is nice to feel as if you are the only one .
The rooms were comfortable and clean, beds very comfortable, beautifully decorated in classical style. the staff were friendly and helpful .We arrived late for lunch 1.50,and although lunch finished at 2.pm we were given a really delicious 3 course lunch .
Nothing at all.
Proximity to golf event at Hawkestone park Peaceful venue Proximity to great pub
radio 2 next to my breakfast table-I turned it down !
I was very well looked after by the staff and early breakfast was not a problem. Staff were very helpful over all enquires. I just feel the whole place needs a bit of modernising. My room was fine and I could open the window which I find essential. A fairly comfortable bed.shower worked and all was clean. It all worked for me!!
The decor and the rather old pub like wallpaper.
Friendeless of staff. Evening Meal Breakfast Room layour Room Bathroom.
It was good to have peace and quiet after a long journey. Though we arrived late, dinner was provided with a smile. The orangery was a lovely location for a delicious breakfast. Useful base for visiting friends in Shrewsbury and Wrexham.
Mattress a bit soft at the edge. Bedding, though clean, was a bit crumpled - needed to be ironed. Artificial flowers and knick-knacks gave a dated and cluttered appearance to what was a nice room.
ice staff .food fine room nice...but way too hot to sleep .did give us a fan....but hotel only half full they could have given us a north facing room
Lovely old building in nice surrounds. Good parking facilities.
Pretentious food presentation, for poor quality food. Lack of staff. Only ever saw one person on duty at any time.
Very nice location and lovely hotel and grounds Staff obliging Food on restaurant excellent
Lots of cobwebs in the ensuite Numerous dead flies under the bed. Clearly not been hoovered under the bed for ages!!
Couldn't fault it for feeling welcome, comfortable and being looked after. Beautiful rooms and would definitely stay again.
Lovely place serving delicious breakfasts. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Good value for money and pleasant friendly staff . Grounds and setting are well maintained and very attractive.
Our double bed was a little 'small' but quite comfortable.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and pleasant. The cooked breakfast was delicious.
Really friendly helpful staff Beautiful settings Spacious Rooms Clean Great Food
How quiet the hotel was
Not being able to get a Financial Times.
Cosy room Excellent breakfasts Tasty evening meals Helpful staff
I felt very taken care of and comfortable. the staff were caring and nothing was too much trouble. On the whole the food was good. I loved the atmosphere of the hotel and enjoyed the garden very much. My room was comfy and clean.
The prunes at breakfast tasted of fridge and the lamb cutlets were all fat.
The room we were given was above the refrigeration unit and was horrendously noisy. Could not have stayed in that room. Complained to reception and they changed it. They should not be charging the same for that room as the one we were given after complaining. Unfortunately someone must have had to go in it. Have stayed there before and enjoyed it can't help noticing there have been many cut backs. The breakfast was not as good. Half a piece of black pudding, who cuts one slice in half. Asked three times for jug of milk for tea and coffee got up and used the milk at the buffet or I would be still waiting. There were no napkins, not even paper ones. The buffet was whisked away before we had finished out breakfast so couldn't have certain items. There was never anyone at reception on Friday had to go knocking on kitchen door to get to speak to anyone. In room only four little milk given, there used to be a fridge in the room. The bathroom dated and black mould in rather pathetic excuse for a shower. I get they were only interested in the wedding that was going on and any other guests came second. When we booked we said we had been regular visitors and asked for nice room and also for twin beds to be kingsize, neither requests were granted. I'm on,y pleased we had a special offer when booking or would not have been happy to pay the full price.
Always a good experience
Staff were very welcoming and the gardens lovely
Felt the bathroom could have been updated - the bathroom had a strange smell - not sure if it was the air freshener used.
