Very nice accomodation. Lovely friendly staff, and excellent breakfast with local produce used. Didnt have evening meal as we visited family. Comfortable bed too. Not being a dog person, was unsettled when their large dog came to say hello in the bar.!!!! He was friendly but didnt like it.

very spacious rooms and bathroom, just off the A-road very nice, friendly and attentive owners food (lunch, dinner) is great and portions are huge! breakfast is good as well, you can choose from a selection of bread, cereals, coffees, cooked breakfast very close to Haverhill and the countryside. due to the proximity to the A road, you can at times hear cars, however this wasn't a problem, I slept very well!

The Old Red Lion is a village pub in the middle of the countryside, very peaceful and ideal for us visiting family, and only half an hour from Cambridge for shopping. The room was comfortable, once we found how to turn the heating up,as was quite chilly! Breakfast was excellent, with cereals and a full English if wanted. We will be returning in the summer.

Location and the fact that it had a pub/restaurant attached There was a disco going on when we got back to the room at midnight, the music could be heard in our room. The window blind didn't work properly. The cover on the bathroom radiator/towel rail was broken and missing exposing live wires

a pleasant combination of friendly/laid back and efficient.the rooms not being above the pub added to the comfort of our stay.the restuarant was of good quality and reasonable value.the the only drawback was a very weak mobile signal in the area.

Arrrived and found the staff were so very friendly, was shown to a well equiped room that was spacious and had been re-decorated to a high standard. The bathroom was equiped with a good quality shower and even a cafeteir and fresh coffee was in room. In the evening we went into the restaurant and had a resonible priced meal in very comfortable surroundings. The nights stay was good with no issues. In the morning we were treated to a well prepared breakfast again served by friendly staff. We left feeling we had had a break and would not hesitate to return when we are back in the area.

Fantastic stay, my colleague and I run our own swim school and needed accomodation close to Linton for a training course. We stayed from Tues-Fri and were made to feel most welcome, the location was perfect, the room was lovely and clean, the food was absolutely gorgeous (we were spoilt for choice every night and the steaks were to die for!!) and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. We are planning future training courses and without a doubt will definately be booking the Old Red Lion again, Thankyou for a most enjoyable stay, Kath and Sharon, Kinder Swim, Cheshire

The room (2) was very nice indeed. Very spacious and nicely decorated with a huge TV. Had a great nights sleep in the very comfortable bed. I felt that the food was a tad overpriced; especially the steak which I had. I was a little put of when my steak arrived on what can only be described as a chopping board. It did put me of a bit and made the meal less enjoyable. Perhaps the menu should clarify this as I would have requested a plate.

The rooms were quite big, well furnished and clean. Description of the hotel on booking.com suggests it is quite old and with lots of character. Actually it is a Green King chain pub with a few rooms on the back. Restaurant/bar area is 100% charachter free and not the sort of place you would want to spend a whole evening, the food is very basic (chips and side salad with everything etc) and the staff very young. We felt compelled to go out for the evening to get some atmosphere and a varied menu. When we came back at 9:15 the bar and restaurant were totally deserted. Breakfast was friendly and decent for the full English but if you wanted continental then there was nothing at all for you. If you want a cosy place to stay with atmosphere then this is not the place for you.

“Clean, comfortable and convenient for the town centre. Very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was excellent. Room clean and comfortable with a superb view over Parkers Park. !0 minute walk from railway station but has a large free carpark if you need it. (Most hotels in the city were charging residents up to £16 per night to park). We have stayed at other Best Western hotels and we are very pleased with the standards and the prices that this chain has to offer. Looking forward to our next visit.” Colin, Rochester |
