Really nice hotel with friendly and very helpful staff and management. Nice dining room and lovely breakfast.
Unfortunately we were double booked for the second night of our stay but in fairness to the management one phone call and they found us a room in another hotel just a few hundred yards away and they paid the price difference.
very friendly staff clean and tidy great breakfast.looking forward to our next visit.
Location ,stayed here before its perfect for a clean comfortable stay with good breakfasts
Only stayed one night but felt that welcome you would think we had been there longer.
The staff are particularly helpful and friendly Great breakfast
The location was good for our personal needs. Close to friends and the town.
We were told breakfast from 7 until 8.15am. This might be ok for the many workmen staying there, but we were on a short break. Too early. A small but important point . .our friends in 'normal rooms' got chocolates. We paid extra for a 4-poster room (just 4 posts!!) and didn't get the chocolates! The receptionist just laughed, but did nothing about it.
The B&B was a lovely warm and friendly place within walking distance of the town and would'nt hesitate to use them again.
Really friendly staff, warm, comfortable room, the whole guest house was very clean, smelt fresh, breakfast was average but still good, expected noise from the busy road, but there wasn't any, really good location easy to find.
Sadly the bathroom is very overdue for a refurbishment, toilet not flushing properly, hot tap on sink turning 90 deg, the taps for the shower, were "outside" of the shower cubicle, so altering the temperature, meant opening the shower door to do so, the bathroom fittings were all looking very tired.. but with a sense of humour it did the job .. "just" (apart from the toilet flush)
Two minutes’ walk from the railway station. Friendly staff, decent room, great value.
A little noisy at night — door opened directly into the car park where other guests come in/out.
Oldroyd Guest House is in the Best Location for the Racecourse and the Town. Owners Staff everything really is in Order. We use it every time we go racing or just to stay in the town. Breakfast is really Nice Rooms are very clean Good Value for the price. Cant Fault it
We love Uttoxeter Day out or a Long Weekend its Great
Friendly staff, great location, comfy bed.
No complaints at all.
The staff were very friendly, spotlessly clean and piping hot good full English,or whatever you chose for breakfast.brilliant location .thanks for a smashing stay.
friendly staff and a warm welcome - literally!
The Heat!, faux wall paper tiles in the bathrooms - lack of general upgrading / decorating for 30 years & the 'Spa' is actually a shed in the car park.
Friendly staff, heating in room and location
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location. Clean rooms. Although room was due a makeover as I left, I understand the decorators were going in that morning :)
WiFi was not good in the room.
Close to town
a bit pricey
Food. beds room decorations
We liked everything the guest house is in an excellent location with lots of facilities very close by and great for Alton Towers. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable and the guest house was great value for money. The staff were lovely this is the second time we have stayed and will be staying here again soon
Staff Location Beautiful local town
Breakfast Noise during the night Nonsensical shower No heating in the room Tired decor
Staff were very helpful throughout our stay,) Clean premises Car parking
Being outside of main guest house. No wife signal. Sink outside bathroom & pipe was a bit smelly. double bed had seen better days and very small, at 5 feet 7 inches I was very surprised my feet hung off the bed. Shame as on previous visits I could not fault the place. TV could be heard from next room which was on all night & shower and toilet was also very small, different to the main guest house.:-(
The proximity to Alton Towers, our destination. Excellent breakfast!
The room could do with an update. But was perfectly clean and comfortable.
Good value b&b, we stayed here before a trip to Alton Towers (excellent location, 15 minutes without traffic) The staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast was really good. The bed was really comfortable. Handy retail park (KFC, Frankie + Bennys, Tescos) less than a minutes walk away.
Lock on the door was faulty and would struggle to lock / unlock. Stairs by our room were quite noisy and you could hear people walking about - however I would expect this from a number of terraced houses made into a b&b!
Location to the dog show venue we were attending, excellent parking, friendly staff , very good breakfast.
En-suite in room 1 needs upgrading particularly the shower which is very shabby I am a builder and it would'nt cost a fortune to re-do the shower sealing etc
Excellent bed Good breakfast Helpful staff Right next to train station & bus stop
Shower unit was outside the shower and vacillated between hot and cold Narrow Stairs and stayed on 3rd floor
