Barceló Brighton Old Ship Hotel

The room was comfortable and quiet - just what we wanted. We booked at midday on the day of our stay and got what it said...a double room with no breakfast. This is what we booked and we were happy with that!

Your staff in reception and in the garage where fantastic very helpful and professional especially when we needed help with a visitor who became ill. All staff were very friendly and a credit to the hotel.

The only problem was the noise from outside at night.

My stay was very good we had no problems with the hotel it was clean the staff were well trained .The breakfast was good value over all the stay was excellent.

we had a very enjoyable couple of days ,the hotel being in an excellant location to ,our stay was short and did not eat in the hotel so im,e unable to coment on food in restuarant.

We were delighted to have an ocean view room. Very comfortable, nice breakfast.

We stayed on a weekend-lots of partying outside.

The staff on Reception, when I arrived and departed, were courteous and helpful. The garage attendant was particularly efficient.

In many ways it is a typical English seaside hotel ie old building; gloomy decor; poor lighting everwhere, dull bedroom, ensuite in need of refurbishment; limited, barely warm buffet breakfast. I won't be staying there again.

very nice quality hotel and very good value for money as £59 per room with excellent breakfast and service.

the hotel charged me £15/night for parking my car in their premises which I thought was very expensive and totaly unfair charge. I am sure nearby shopping centre public car park would have been much cheaper to park.

Brilliant location. Brilliant price of £50 a night when we stayed. We had a nice large room but our friends didn't.

There was mould on our bathroom ceiling. Reception told us wrong time for breakfast so we missed it on the Saturday.

It was easy and convenient, the room was large and airy if a bit noisy on the beach front and it was cost effective.

From the outside the hotel does not look very inviting and on arrival I thought what have I booked here? But once you are inside, it is lovely. Fantastic sea front location and very close to bars, restaurants & The Lanes shopping areas.

Location, shower water pressure.

Poor maintenance, single glazed windows, poor acoustic attenuation, narrow corridors.... all the things associated with an old building turned into an hotel, but many details could be improved but haven't. Poor workmanship in bathroom tiles as an example.
