Spa facilities are excellent, Starbucks, food at sports bar. Champagne bar
Breakfast - dry and Luke warm; disappointing that reception staff didn't at least appear to try to facilitate a checkin earlier than 3 pm
room was very good and food at sports bar was good as well.
Breakfast was generally good but bacon was a bit dry.
The food was good.
It was too busy. "Country estate" implies peace and quiet. Old Thorns was like Butlins with golf parties and 3 simultaneous weddings across the weekend. Rowdy wedding guests kept us awake til 3a.m. on first night. Won't be back.
excellent gym facilities
Bed too hard uncomfortable pillows
Great front of house Breakfast Huge bed
functions rooms breakfast amenities parking grounds reception terrace gym - very impressive staff friendly - although some didn't have a great grasp of english
no aircon - very uncomfortable bed rooms on a hot night/day.
Spa Swimming pool Sauna Surroundings Champagne bar
Rooms were not as clean as I expected. Stains on bedding, stains on two walls, and not small insignificant stains rather large ones, extremely filthy upright fan. Disappointed that we did point this out to staff but they did nothing to rectify it.
Staff in the pro shop not very happy and it shows
Our room was exactly what we wanted, the food excellent & the staff attentative to our every need. A lovely short stay could have stayed longer!!
A little difficult finding our room No. 248, but eventually we did with the help of one of your staff who was most kind.
Not enough people, take some friends and make your own entertainment. Need someone to show you to your room and a map!
Wedding room was beautiful. The temp within the main building was perfect. Other than air con the rooms are lovely, comfortable and clean.
Breakfast was awful No air con within bedroom (not even your new building!!!!) I do not feel this is exceptable and would not stay there again and would not recommendation anyone else to either.
Peaceful setting and great facillities.
The room was extremely hot because it was under the roof which with full sun and daytime temperature of 28c made the room about the same.
The rooms were very nice. The hotel was very clean lovely bars and breakfast was good
The room we had 250 looks over a brick wall at our stay the hotel was going through a redecoration which was not mentioned on the website witch resulted on being wokend up at 07.40 we were told the duty manager would contact us we did not want any compensation never recieved a phone call surprise surprise
Great value for money, lovely location
Spa staff weren't overly friendly. Nails had to be re done as poorly done in the first place, no fridge in the room. Our booking wasnt found on arrival at all and neither was our dinner reservations despite phoning in April
I liked everything- I had a Jr. Suite over looking the Thames which was amazing. I'd recommend staying in the main building if possible.
The location was perfect, staff very well trained and courteous, buffet food was good, generally an enjoyable stay. Rooms are large and comfortable. Although the complex was full, there was still no overcrowding in the gym or pool and there is an excellent golf course. Starbucks coffee house on site! Pub at the road end of the drive is excellent too!
Before booking again, I would check that there were no weddings or functions (I think that a Saturday night stay was my poor choice), it is a large leisure complex and some of the functions can become raucous which is not conducive to a peaceful early night.
The bouncers on the bar. The multiple weddings. The early closure of the bar. The difficulty in getting our guests into the hotel. The large queues for breakfast.
We got a very good deal with a lovely room and breakfast included. All the staff were delightful, friendly and helpful.
Maybe the striped carpet which was a bit overwhelming !!..
The room was modern, bed a super king, outlook good - view of the countryside. every thing was modern and pleasing to the eye.
When we had the roast meal in the evening the turkey was a bit dry and overcooked.
They could have a better sign for reception on entering the car park.
Everthing you need in one location. Lovely setting and helpful staff.
Rooms a little hot.
