Full of workmen staying during working week & car park like a lorry park
location, parking, bed, food
Staff a bit wanting ordered drinks which were wrong ordered a top floor room given a lower floor and ordered a sunday paper which didn't arrive However all of the above was rectified
Very helpful receptionist who provided telephone books and an internet search for a person I was looking for. All staff were helpful and pleasant. Restaurant serves a 2 or 3 course carvery only, if staying in the hotel you can have just a main course, The evening food was excellent and the breakfast is buffet style with a lot of choice. The room was quite large, bed very comfy and our room next to the road was quiet as a Sunday night. Lots of free parking and 20 mins from the coast.
The TV kept losing reception due to the poor weather.
The excellent quality of the buffet
Some of the smaller dining rooms we ate in They were poorly lit and cold with no atmosphere
I think we got a bargain. We booked ate so got a good deal on the room, B&B. We were pleasantly surprised by the nature of the hotel and accommodation. Everything was bright and clean and on the whole the staff were pleasant and efficient.
We decided to have an evening meal in the carvery. We were kept waiting while 3 members of staff conducted a conversation. The waiter who finally attended to us was brusque as he ferried us to an empty and cold back room away from the dining hall. I asked why we could not sit with the other guests and were abruptly told it was because the empty tables were reserved - better surely to have explained this before we had to ask. His attitude remained offhand for the rest of the evening. Fortunately the other staff were pleasant which meant the evening was not a complete loss.
Nice quiet location, friendly staff, good breakfast choice, no complaints.
All as above
Bathroom vanity unit a bit sad
The staff were attentive and very friendly. The environment is lovely - beautiful ruined castle across the road, river nearby, great for running. The room was cosy and clean.
Despite looking like a traditional place on the photos, it is actually part of the Best Western chain, so not quite the old inn that it looks like, but nevertheless it manages to retain some of its English charm.
Location : convenient fir Brighton in a quiet country location opposite Bramber Castle. Carvery food good. Breakfast good. Staff - very helpful.
Decorations in rooms and bathroom equipment needed modernising and updating but cleanliness was excellent.
Nice comfortable bed and a good size room. Clean and well maintained. Staff polite and attentive. Would recommend the hotel.
Reception area could be a little more inviting
the ambience and the top quality of everything
Good rooms great location quiet and quaint village Good food
poor service at reception impersonal service small bar and sitting area
The Staff in all areas
We had a superior room but once again only one chair to sit on. Choice of buffet was excellent but breakfast on the first day was only warm.
Have stayed on several occasions now. Our room (we always ask for the same) is of good size and very clean. The carvery provides an excellent evening meal which is good value and breakfast also provides plenty of choice. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful.
The extremely comfortable bed The quality of the food The staff The shower
Cobwebs around the windows Superior room was small Lighting in the bathroom was extremely poor No comfortable seating in the public areas (sofas) The pillows
dinner / breakfast / clean

excellent value carvery on Friday evenings. Easy to find, quiet location, large carpark, very nice garden areas.
very busy on Friday evenings the carvery being very popular!
Everything..........Excellent location for our trip.Very clean.Staff helpful
Food is great. Staff very helpful and excellent location for us.
Walking outside to get to the main part of hotel & restaurant in the rain
The relaxed feeling of the Hotel, comfort and facilities of the room, good location
The 'lounge' bar was a bit small, and used as a storage area for spare chairs, it would have been nice to relax in the lounge with a drink after the meal.
I liked the rooms i thought they were very nice and spacious
Breakfast was was lovely and lots of choice, but was not very hot.
The friendly reception and waiting team at breakfast, the room was very comfortable. Our breakfast was well cooked and presented and the quiet location was very relaxing
Nothing to dislike
Rooms and restaurant. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The carvery is very good but expensive.
When booking I was not aware that the restaurant was carvery only. I am not a lover of carvery meals as everything is kept warm and as fresh as it could be. The breakfast was also buffet style which for me is always a disappointment.
