Lovely place to stay food excellent and staff friendly
The room extremely cold and wardrobe very cold and damp
The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful.
Would have like softer pillows.
Great value Great Breakfast
Room is a little dated. Had a problem with ladybirds in my room, evicted at least 30! in Dec, strange
Very wellappointed, spacious and quiet double room. Huge, extremely comfortable bed. Lovely deep bath, and nice to have a bidet, too!
Uncomfortable pillows. Poor quality "fresh" coffee at breakfast (more like instant). Intermittent WiFi.
Friendly staff always made to feel welcome. Almost home from home
All staff were friendly and helpful. The room was, as usual clean and comfortable... another relaxing stay.. My third time now & I will definitely be back in the future
The only thing I didn't like was there was no sofa in the room ( it would have been useful) On my last visit, our room had one!
Nothing to dislike, fulfilled expectations
Great dinner buffet and carvery
LOADS MOSQUITOES IN OUR BEDROOM IN JANUARY! AND NO BEDSIDE TABLE ONE SIDE - ROOM WAS VERY BADLY DESIGNED. GORMLESS WAITER AT BREAKFAST, NO CUTLERY ON TABLE HAD TO ASK, HAD TO GO AND FIND SOMEONE TO ASK FOR COFFEE, TERRIBLE SERVICE WOULDNT STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN
good size bedroom for standard double
duvet probably 13.5 tog which made it a little too hot
Everything about our stay was excellent - we have stayed there several times which bears testament to our complete satisfaction with the hotel.
The staff were extemely helpful and were more than happy to assist with every request we made.
The only small complaint I had was that the bathroom was extemely cold with the only heating being a towel rail.
We loved the location and the accessibility to the south coast. The hotel had a welcoming atmosphere and staff.
I wish the bar area had more seating as it was very busy over the time we were there and there was no room to sit before going before dinner.
Everything but espcially very friendly welcoming staff
Full of workmen staying during working week & car park like a lorry park
location, parking, bed, food
Staff a bit wanting ordered drinks which were wrong ordered a top floor room given a lower floor and ordered a sunday paper which didn't arrive However all of the above was rectified
Very helpful receptionist who provided telephone books and an internet search for a person I was looking for. All staff were helpful and pleasant. Restaurant serves a 2 or 3 course carvery only, if staying in the hotel you can have just a main course, The evening food was excellent and the breakfast is buffet style with a lot of choice. The room was quite large, bed very comfy and our room next to the road was quiet as a Sunday night. Lots of free parking and 20 mins from the coast.
The TV kept losing reception due to the poor weather.
The excellent quality of the buffet
Some of the smaller dining rooms we ate in They were poorly lit and cold with no atmosphere
I think we got a bargain. We booked ate so got a good deal on the room, B&B. We were pleasantly surprised by the nature of the hotel and accommodation. Everything was bright and clean and on the whole the staff were pleasant and efficient.
We decided to have an evening meal in the carvery. We were kept waiting while 3 members of staff conducted a conversation. The waiter who finally attended to us was brusque as he ferried us to an empty and cold back room away from the dining hall. I asked why we could not sit with the other guests and were abruptly told it was because the empty tables were reserved - better surely to have explained this before we had to ask. His attitude remained offhand for the rest of the evening. Fortunately the other staff were pleasant which meant the evening was not a complete loss.
Nice quiet location, friendly staff, good breakfast choice, no complaints.
All as above
Bathroom vanity unit a bit sad
The staff were attentive and very friendly. The environment is lovely - beautiful ruined castle across the road, river nearby, great for running. The room was cosy and clean.
Despite looking like a traditional place on the photos, it is actually part of the Best Western chain, so not quite the old inn that it looks like, but nevertheless it manages to retain some of its English charm.
Location : convenient fir Brighton in a quiet country location opposite Bramber Castle. Carvery food good. Breakfast good. Staff - very helpful.
Decorations in rooms and bathroom equipment needed modernising and updating but cleanliness was excellent.
Nice comfortable bed and a good size room. Clean and well maintained. Staff polite and attentive. Would recommend the hotel.
Reception area could be a little more inviting
