welcoming and relaxing, lovely environment
mattress was not comfortable we were offered another room which was fine.
The house was beautiful and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was plentiful and nothing was to much trouble, wish I could have stayed longer.
Very friendly staff, beautiful location, super breakfast provided. Lovely room overlooking the garden. Full of charm and character
Creaky floorboards in other peoples rooms, which woke me up.
Nice location and was once a nice house. Breakfast was quite good and the owner was friendly.
This will sound very negative and I am sorry about that as the owner was charming and still trying to provide a good service. Unfortunately the business had seen better days. We booked a double room but the bed consisted of two singles, not zip linked, but held together by a double sheet. This left a gap in the middle which could not be slept on. Towels were thin, the bath mat used. After the first night the room wasn't cleaned and, for instance, fresh cups were not provided. Heating was turned off at the radiators and when we arrived back at 9.30 (having arrived mid afternoon) the heating could not be turned on and there was no ancillary heating. (Radiators needed to be bled and on the second evening we could only the bottom part heated up). We both went to bed fully clothed. The bed was damp. When I opened the window the next morning I was worried that it would collapse as more bits of old putty fell out leaving very little. When it came to paying we were charged the normal room rate and had to point out the price agreed with booking.com. As we were leaving we came across a beautiful room which we think was the sitting room but, as there was no one there to greet us when we arrived we weren't sure what facilities there were. One thing that didn't work was the wifi despite us being given a code which seemed to be correct but the signal was not strong enough for a new phone or iPad to connect.
very helpful slightly old fashioned but comfortable
the heating and plumbing was very noisy
Very welcoming and a lovely breakfast
lovley old building
Room small, noisy central heating, room cold on arrival, dead flys caught in cobwebs, Wi-Fi very poor, shower enclosure door nearly fell off on last morning. I don't recommend the single room
Between booking.com and the hotel my booking was lost, despite me having an email confirmation. Therefore no room available. Very disappointed. In the past this has been a very pleasant place to stay. At 5 pm had to search around for an alternative.
Nothing to dislike really
very welcome, and made sure we had everything we need, and a fantastic location
Badly in need of maintenance / refurbishment. Heating was not working properly. Soap / shampoo was missed from room. Lamp held together with Sellotape.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Nice clean accommodation and good breakfast.
Location not ideal as it is situation near a power plant (although not seen from house), and away from village - only one pub in close proximity.
Very friendly reception and a lovely relaxing break
