Just 25 minutes south of York on highway A19, the Old Vicarage, with rooms with private bathrooms, large grounds and private parking, is only one mile from exit 34 off highway M62. It is 10 minutes from Selby. The Old Vicarage is a beautifully furnished house on the edge of the village, overlooking the fields and the ancient church. Just off highway M62 and route A19, the Old Vicarage has easy access to York, Hull, Leeds, Goole, Selby and Doncaster. Full English breakfast is served overlooking the grounds, while local pubs offer excellent evening meals. There is a meeting room available. With lots of free parking, the Vicarage is an easy drive from the racecourses at York and Pontefract. When visiting York you can easily avoid parking problems by leaving your car at the McArthur Glen stores (where route A19 crosses route A64) and take the 'Park & Ride' bus into the city. Hotel Rooms: 10, Hotel Chain: Recommended Hotels.

It is not a Hotel but a quality Bed and Breakfast. Attractive building in nice grounds. Well run, friendly, and comfortable. Price is right overall. Furnished in a style which suited us well but not in a modern way. But the furnishings suited the building, parts of which I believe date back to the 1700 hundreds. You might have to ask about stairs and in our bedroom the ensuite was down half a dozen steps which would not suit everyone. A ground floor room might be advisable.

A lovely old large building the staff and owner where friendly and helpful.Superior room large and the seating area was welcome to relax in. The bed in the superior room we stayed in needs a king size bed it is a double that dosent compliment the size of the room .Thr double bed was soft and not comfotable . No rodes in the room as advertised.

The owner was very friendly and helpful. We felt let down by the Breakfast as there was not a great choice and it was luke warm and served on cold plates.

Lovely old building, very spacious & well decorated rooms. Excellent friendly atmosphere with good breakfasts. Location could be better, village is certainly not "picture box". Food in local pubs very "iffy" unless you like chips.

Perfect if you are looking for old English decor, from window curtain to teapot and cups. Nice little garden to afford a relaxed afternoon tea. Quietly located but conveniently accessible. Christine, the most friendly hostess you may have ever seen, would care about even your family members at home. The room is a little bit small but is fine for us.

I really enjoyed staying at the Old Vicarage, the management and staff were excellent and very helpfull. I stayed there to visit York and it was a littke further from there than I thought but using Park and Ride facilities at the Outlet Mall everything work out well.

A nice and comfortable hotel at the country. The rooms are small but very comfortable. You can feel at home. Part of the hotel comfort is a lovely garden. We loved to stay at The Old Vicariage and we are planning to go there more often. Thanks

Comfortable bed, good breakfast and pleasant owner and staff. However, we chose it for its handy location for Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the Barbara Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield. Avoid the nearby Red Lion pub. The only place for dinner near the Old Vicarage is the Kellington Manor (formerly known as the Treetops) which serves a reasonable, basic menu in enormous helpings.
