The welcome was very poor and rushed as if they had far better things to be doing. We arrived late afternoon and were a bit peckish and fancied a sandwich or afternoon tea. We were told that neither was available as there was no food in the kitchen and food had to be pre ordered! We also asked if the hotel could book us a taxi for the evening, we were told that it was hotel policy not to arrange taxi's for customers, they did however provide a list for us to call ourselves.

Absolutely nothing!!! Everything is low standard. Attitude is horrible and staff is unfair. Zilch. Not a single thing. Would prefer travelling mile's away but will not stay in this place ever again.

The friendliness and efficiency of the staff, the quality and value of the dining. It's a great location too, set in a quiet country village but just a ten minute drive from Bridgnorth and other interesting locations. Some of the decor is getting a bit dated but everything else about the place more than makes up for that!

Convenience; pleasant bedroom; reasonably good cooking with excellent wine list Rather drab and cheerless ; boarded-up fireplace in drawing room, non functioning light bulbs even in main rooms, a November menu in the front foyer in mid Feb, no attempt at fresh flowers. All the little touches ; writing paper, sherry, sweets and nice toiletries are things of the past, as are nibbles, when considering the menu. I have stayed here over many years, so I was even more disappointed than last year when a decline in standards was already apparent and the gourmet delights gone. Only the white towels and bed- linen to be praised, a lack of interest even in local attractions now apparent with a lack of leaflets. Alas and alack!

Kept awake all night with what we thought was the heating or hot water system but turned out to be a fridge in the bar below so only stayed the one night instead of the three originally booked not a good hotel

Nice location pleasant setting Disappointing stay as the restaurant was closed it was not apparent on booking that this would be the case. This meant getting in the car to drive to another restaurant. The public rooms were also closed on our return so we were forced to go to bed. Its really run as a glrified B&B rather than a hotel.

Room was very comfortable and clean. Restrictions on refreshment facilities. Had to book afternoon tea in advance which we didnt know about. Had to resort to purchasing what was left in local newsagents - sausage roll and danish pastry. Would have appreciated to be able to use lounge facility for food and drinks.

The location We had eaten at the restaurant before and was very impressed, however the food on Saturday night was very expensive and not to an exceptional standard that rated the prices they charged, and certainly not to the standard we received back in June. The drinks are extortionate which made the evening very expensive. Although the room was good value, everything else was overpriced, we would stay the night but wouldnt be eating or drinking in the restaurant

Large rooms in the annexe Very clean Ample parking Television signal was poor Dinner menu was very expensive. Consequently we ate elsewhere. Breakfast was of average quality but price was for top quality Some tourist brochures on display were for 2010! Poor sound insulation in annex

We booked a Superior Double Room and presented a print out of the booking at reception which included a description of the room booked. We were shown to a room which was very disappointing, although it was clean and acceptable, not quite up to the standard we were expecting. The following morning I queried the allocation of the room with the receptionist and was told that all she received from Booking.com was the fact that a room had been booked. As all the rooms are the same price, I quite understood the mixup. We were then shown to the room we actually booked on line and we were satisfied. I suggested that perhaps if they charged different prices for the different quality rooms this might not happen again. All in all this put a damper on the break as it was booked to celebrate my Partners birthday.
