The Old Vicarage Hotel & RestaurantHallon, Worfield, WV15 5JZ Bridgnorth (Show map) Very good, Score from 89 reviews“Very relaxed but great attention to detail - i.e. decanter of sherry in room plus fresh milk in jug of hot drinks. Lovely restaurant with gourmet food. this hotel is set away from the road to Bridgenorth, but is well worth finding. Very fairly priced - thank you Old Vicarage.”

Oxted

Th setting and excellent food served in the Orangery which was a great location. The Bedrooms were cold on arrival and the heating was only switched on when we were shown our rooms. My room in the annexe called Badger was particularly cold and took a day to warm up.

The location is superb. We were greeted by the owner and made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was served in the conservatory which is a lovely place to sit and eat. Quality of the breakfast was very good. The shower had a weak flow of water and some of the soft furnishings could do with an update.

Kept awake all night with what we thought was the heating or hot water system but turned out to be a fridge in the bar below so only stayed the one night instead of the three originally booked not a good hotel

The country feel of the place and keeping the character of the building, cosy feel Josh the waiter was very attentance, very nice guy. Dining room great room with great view Bedroom coal port great views Goats were charming! Staff were great Dinner was yum! Full breakfast yum! Loved the pear shape key! Eco friendly with sheets and towels It says it's 24 hour reception and when I rang few times at mid night no answer. No bottle water in rooms. No milk in fridge first day of arrival Bed little worn sore back Contential breakfast could add cheese and meats, pastries Tv in room just a little small Full subtitles on tv is a bonus Lack wifi reception

Nice location, nice rooms. Terrible service. No one was ever at the reception desk. I was asked upon check in whether I wanted breakfast the next day, yet I wasn't told that breakfast service finished at 9.30am (on a sunday!). The lady at reception (I assume the owner) was not friendly or helpful.

The hotel was very helpful when we discovered that we had made an error on the booking and transferred our booking to the following night. We were told that the only room that they had left was a small double room. If that was small, the one we originally booked must have been huge. The room was very clean and spacious, and had a lovely en-suite with a corner bath. We had a meal in town and came back at 10.30pm thinking we would have a drink in the hotel bar, but it was closed and there were no staff around. We then decided to have a drink in the room from the mini bar, but there was no white wine (I don't drink red) and there were no diet mixers, I am diabetic so couldn't have a spirit either. A little disappointing as it cut our night out short.

We had problems with the shower on the first day but this was rectifyed by the time we came back that evening. The hotels restaurant did not appear to be open on Sunday night, and we had not been advised of this.

The location We had eaten at the restaurant before and was very impressed, however the food on Saturday night was very expensive and not to an exceptional standard that rated the prices they charged, and certainly not to the standard we received back in June. The drinks are extortionate which made the evening very expensive. Although the room was good value, everything else was overpriced, we would stay the night but wouldnt be eating or drinking in the restaurant

The accommodation was set in idyllic countryside. The room was spacious and comfortable. We would use it again because of its situation. On the internet there was no mention that evening meals were not available on Sundays - this was a major disappoint. Although the room was comfortable, and facilities in the room were good, there was a let down. On the unit which housed Hotel info etc, quite a bit of dust, pack of cards in a box had a note inside stating the Jack of diamonds was missing (how long for). Obviously the room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned before our arrival. We would like to think this was an oversight.

Large rooms in the annexe Very clean Ample parking Television signal was poor Dinner menu was very expensive. Consequently we ate elsewhere. Breakfast was of average quality but price was for top quality Some tourist brochures on display were for 2010! Poor sound insulation in annex

Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location, fantastic restaurant link (Thornescroft) and pretty village setting. No maps for us to investigate and plan day. We also thought the sitting room was a little cluttered with mismatching bits of furniture....less is more sometimes. Also, the reception desk is a little dated and forbidding...modern receptions hide the staff less.

we stayed in the coaching houses ajacant to the hotel with elderly relatives the accomadation was fabulous and our parents who are in there 70s had the disabled rooms which were well presented and equiped and we will definitly be booking to go again. we visited the pub nearby the black dog really friendly. the grounds are lovely and set out equipped for weddings.all around we had a great time and could come and go as we liked. we didnt eat at in the hotel as we thought it was expensive 12.50 for breakfast was a bit much. when booking out tried to charge us more luckly i kept booking slip from yourselves and the receptionist changed the amount but icould see she was a bit annoyed which i thought wasnt good managment skills. i think they need to sort out with companies what they are charging.
