Very friendly staff, beautiful rooms & Location. Relaxing atmosphere

location was excellent. wonderful breakfast.

clutching at straws but - lack of central heating. oil heater provided is ok in autumn.

The accommodation was excellent, top standard. We stayed as a group in the Farmhouse, taking all four rooms. Each has its own en suite, the kitchen/diner is spacious and has every convenience. The lounge was comfortable and had the most enormous tv which suited some of our group very well! We enjoyed having our breakfast brought over to us on the Saturday morning. The bacon and sausage were particularly good! It was an excellent venue for a wedding and the marquee and the setting were lovely. We stayed for a wedding and the food provided for that was also excellent with the staff delivering the food promptly and in a most professional manner.

It was a very chilly weekend with ground frost on the Saturday night. The marquee for the wedding was a little chilly but we kept warm by dancing! Someone did eventually turn up the heater which helped, but perhaps it wasn't mentioned early enough. That was specific to the marquee, the temperature in the main accommodation was cosy.

We stayed at Oldwalls for a wedding and we had the most amazing night's sleep. All the staff we met were very helpful. Views fantastic. Location superb. Cleanliness faultless.

The rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. Lovely location. Fantastic service for breakfast and great food.

The fishing lakes were not stocked and so we were unable to fish. We had not been informed of this despite sending an email and enquiring on the phone about the availability of equipment for fishing when we arrived - somewhat disappointing. There was a wedding party staying and we were kept awake by a group singing for some time. Perhaps the venue should be solely hired out for weddings or private bookings on a particular night?

Firmness of mattress but that's a personal thing At 4 30pm after a day walking the water was not really hot enough for a hot bath The temperature of the heating was too high for us We weren't sure how we could control that

Good location. Very nice setting. Very friendly and accomodating staff.

Cold room with only one small heater which was inadequate. Communal areas also cold - kitchen and tv area. Nowhere to dry wet clothes in own room/ lodge i.e. a radiator.
