Location was great but .... Was disgusted to discover that the hotel had blocked the cost of the room on my credit card for a further 5 working days after I had settled the bill. |

Good location Rooms are loud due to thin walls and doors. Hotel is old and you'll notice. Poor reception staff. Besides all of this the hotel is good for a single night out in Edinburgh. |

As I was alone I found the hotel very comfortable and friendly. The staff were most helpful and I felt most at home. I would certainly stay there again if I return to Edinburgh |

Very good location. Can see the castle from the hotel room. Probably because we stayed at an upper floor, the water power of the shower was too weak. The shower head holder was broken. |

The Location of the hotel is excellent and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is fairly dated and needs a bit of attention. We did not get a hand towel each, or a floor mat for the bathroom. The bedroom was quite cramped and the "facilities" - tea/coffee, bathroom essentials were quite basic and limited. |

Location of the hotel was perfect for sight-seeing and transport. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good. Room a fair size with lovely bathroom. Far too hot. The whole place, but especially our room was like a sauna. Slept with the window open, despite being end of October and it was still too hot. |

First the attention given by the staff was always on a personal interest basis. Breakfast could not have been any better and we were all impressed by the cleanliness. The location could not have been any better. Thank you The only thing were the beds, l think it is about time that the mattresses were changed or maybe some support under the mattress. Thank you |

It is a beautiful building in a prime position on Princes St, in the centre of Edinburgh. The bar and restuarant are first class with excellent views, food & service. The Reception staff are polite & professional. Jenners is next door, Waverley station a few metres away. The rooms were a little bit disappointing as they didn`t have a view at all. I recommend you specify that you want "a room with a view" |
