Comfortable, good bed, water piping hot, secure, clean room, housekeeping very good, in city centre and near railway station, comfortable lounge with bar menu and good bar service Being a civil engineer the only criticism I have is the problem you have with the cold water supply to the sixth floor especially the toilet flush system which only flushes when the other rooms are not using the system. This can be conveniently fixed with a suitably designed pump system. This is an observation and not a comlaint. |

simple, quiet, business-like environment that enabled me to conduct my work in edinburgh effectively and at low cost room was a bit dark and cleaning services rather dominated corridors in the morning. |

Excellent location, spacious rooms, friendly and helpful staff. We had castle view from our room. Strong smell of perfume/soap in the reception area. |

Convenience of location in the city, and good value for money. A better car park arrangement would be good but given the location in the city I would accept this could be difficult. |

I liked the location, very close to train station and lovely breakfast. It's good value for money at the rate we were offered. We booked for a double room. We were given a double room but was unhappy about the unpleasant smell of the room when we entered (don't know where it's coming from, probably the carpet) so we requested for a change which they gladly allowed but gave us a twin instead of a double. Staff are kind, pleasant and accommodating. |

Very convenient location for shopping and city business. Very friendly staff who helped out of their way to provide breakfast on the day of our departure before 7am. Very clean beddings and towels. |

Location was great but .... Was disgusted to discover that the hotel had blocked the cost of the room on my credit card for a further 5 working days after I had settled the bill. |

The comfort of the hotel was fantastic and staff excellent. Fabulous location of the theatre. Only that we had an internal room which next time we would opt for a room with a view of the city. |

Good location Rooms are loud due to thin walls and doors. Hotel is old and you'll notice. Poor reception staff. Besides all of this the hotel is good for a single night out in Edinburgh. |

As I was alone I found the hotel very comfortable and friendly. The staff were most helpful and I felt most at home. I would certainly stay there again if I return to Edinburgh |

Very good location. Can see the castle from the hotel room. Probably because we stayed at an upper floor, the water power of the shower was too weak. The shower head holder was broken. |

The Location of the hotel is excellent and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is fairly dated and needs a bit of attention. We did not get a hand towel each, or a floor mat for the bathroom. The bedroom was quite cramped and the "facilities" - tea/coffee, bathroom essentials were quite basic and limited. |

Location of the hotel was perfect for sight-seeing and transport. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good. Room a fair size with lovely bathroom. Far too hot. The whole place, but especially our room was like a sauna. Slept with the window open, despite being end of October and it was still too hot. |
